Debbie Allen was recently presented with an Academy Honorary Award and she’s celebrating her win with the Broadway community!
The legendary actress, director, and choreographer was joined by sister Phylicia Rashad, Oscar winner Ariana DeBose, and more at a cocktail reception held at the Shubert Organization’s JJ Shubert Penthouse on Friday (February 20) in New York City.
The event was held ahead of the upcoming Oscars, which will happen on March 15. Debbie received her award during the Governors Awards in November 2025, but will likely be recognized again at the Oscars this year.
Also in attendance at the cocktail reception were Misty Copeland, Joshua Boone, George Faison, Susan Fales-Hill, and more.
Debbie makes her return to Broadway this year, directing a revival of the classic play Joe Turner’s Come and Gone. The production begins preview performances on March 30 and stars Cedric the Entertainer and Taraji P. Henson. Get tickets now!
Maksim Chmerkovskiy is moving into the acting world and he’s set to star in a new vertical drama series.
For those who don’t know, verticals or “microdramas” are shot in a vertical aspect ratio for viewing on mobile phones, with each episode just 1 to 2 minutes in length. They are known to have low production costs, with Variety noting that actors tend to make $500 for each day of work.
Following the news that Taye Diggs signed on as the first high-profile actor to star in a microdrama, Maksim is now the first reality TV star to book a lead role in one, according to Deadline.

Devon Windsor is glowing on vacation in Mexico!
The 31-year-old fashion model was photographed visiting Tulum, Mexico in Monday (February 23), where she is reportedly vacationing for her sister Alex Windsor‘s wedding, and spending some time on the beach while she’s there.
She was seen wearing a classic triangular-cut bikini with a halter neck. Devon wore sunglasses for her time in the sun and was spotted standing on the sandy shore staring out into the ocean.
Some pics also showed her relaxing in a lounge area with a drink in hand.
On her Instagram, Devon has been sharing more photos from her vacation, including some of her different outfits, like a gorgeous maxi dress and an all-white outfit with a halter top and matching skirt.
