Michael B Jordan Meets Up With 'Creed' Co-Star Tessa Thompson at Critics Choice Celebration of Black Cinema & Television 2025

Michael B Jordan and Tessa Thompson pose for photos together on the red carpet at the Critics Choice Association’s 2025 Celebration of Black Cinema & Television held at Fairmont Century Plaza on Tuesday (December 9) in Los Angeles.

The Creed co-stars both took to the stage during the ceremony, where the 38-year-old actor presented the actress with the Actress Award – Film, as well as presenting their director Ryan Coogler with the Director Award.

There were many other celebs in attendance, including fellow honorees Chase Infiniti (Ensemble Award), Damson Idris (Supporting Actor Award – Film), David Alan Grier (Vanguard Award), Janelle James (Comedy Award), Jurnee Smollett (Actress Award – Series), Naya Desir-Johnson (Rising Star Award), Regina Hall (Ensemble Award), Skye P. Marshall (Supporting Actress Award – Series), Spike Lee (Career Achievement Award), Sterling K. Brown (Actor Award – Series), Tenika Davis (Breakthrough Performance Award), and Teyana Taylor (Ensemble Award).

Cate Blanchett, Glenn Close, & More Step Out for Giorgio Armani Fashion Show in Milan

Cate Blanchett is closing out Milan Fashion Week!

The 56-year-old Oscar-winning actress attended the Giorgio Armani Women Spring/Summer 2026 Fashion Show on Sunday night (September 28) held at Palazzo Brera in Milan, Italy.

Fellow stars in attendance included Glenn Close, Leslie Bibb, Richard Gere and wife Alejandra Silva, Eiza Gonzalez, Samuel L. Jackson and wife LaTanya Richardson, Rocco Ritchie, Spike Lee and wife Tonya Lewis Lee, James Norton, and Miguel Ángel Silvestre.

The fashion show, which marked the end of Milan Fashion Week, celebrated the brand’s 50th anniversary and also paid tribute to designer Giorgio Armani, who passed away nearly a month ago at the age of 91.

In a recent interview, Cate opened up about her retirement timeline.

'Tulsa King' Spinoff Series Titled 'NOLA King' Starring Samuel L. Jackson Officially Picked Up by Paramount+

It’s official – Samuel L. Jackson‘s Tulsa King spinoff series has been greenlit by Paramount+!

Last month, it was reported that the 76-year-old attached to star in and executive produce an upcoming Tulsa King spinoff series that will be set in New Orleans.

Now on Thursday (July 17), it was confirmed that Samuel will be starring in the new series titled NOLA King.

Kara Young Wins Second Consecutive Tony Award as 'Purpose' Takes Best Play at Tonys 2025!

It’s a big night for the play Purpose at the 2025 Tony Awards!

The show’s supporting star, Kara Young, took home her second consecutive Tony win on Sunday (June 8) at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

Kara won the award for Best Featured Actress in a Play for her work in the new play. This is her fourth consecutive year being nominated in the category and her second consecutive year winning after picking up the award last year for Purlie Victorious.

She was joined at the event by her nominated co-stars LaTanya Richardson Jackson (who was joined by husband Samuel L. Jackson and presented with him on stage), Harry Lennix, Jon Michael Hill, and Glenn Davis.

Playwright Branden Jacobs-Jenkins accepted the award for Best Play that evening.

Samuel L. Jackson has a new series in the works at Paramount+!

On Thursday (June 5), it was revealed that the 76-year-old actor is attached to star in and executive produce an upcoming Tulsa King spinoff series that will be set in New Orleans.

Tulsa King centers around New York mafia capo Dwight “The General” Manfredi, played by Sylvester Stallone, just after he is released from prison after 25 years and unceremoniously exiled by his boss to set up shop in Tulsa, Okla. Realizing that his mob family may not have his best interests in mind, Dwight slowly builds a “crew” from a group of unlikely characters, to help him establish a new criminal empire in a place that to him might as well be another planet.
