The new musical The Outsiders won the award for Best Musical at the 2024 Tony Awards and the show also gave an incredible performance during the event!

Producer Angelina Jolie introduced the performance on Sunday (June 16) at the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York City.

Tony-nominated actors Brody Grant, Sky Lakota-Lynch, and Joshua Boone were joined by the rest of the cast for a medley of “Tulsa ’67,” “Grease Got a Hold,” and the rumble scene.

The rumble featured the rain and dirt that has become one of the signature moments of the show. After the performance, The Tony Awards TikTok account captured a video of the cast going backstage and Brody even ripped his shirt off in front of the camera!

The cast of the Broadway musical The Outsiders is at the Tonys!

Lead actor Brody Grant, who plays Ponyboy Curtis, was joined by book author S.E. Hinton on the red carpet at the 2024 Tony Awards on Sunday (June 16) at the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York City.

Brody is nominated for Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Musical for his performance and he was joined by co-stars Joshua Boone and Sky Lakota-Lynch, who are both nominated for Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Musical.

Also pictured are director Danya Taymor, who won for Best Direction of a Musical, and writers Justin Levine and Adam Rapp, who are nominated for Best Book of a Musical. Justin is also nominated for Best Original Score alongside Jamestown Revival.

The Outsiders has 12 nominations, including Best Musical.

The show has a VERY famous producer who is sitting in the front row at the Tonys.

All of Broadway’s biggest stars were in attendance at the 2024 Tony Awards Meet the Nominees Press Event to kick off the theatre awards season!

Major Hollywood celebs like Rachel McAdams, Eddie Redmayne, Gayle Rankin, Alicia Keys, Daniel Radcliffe, and more were at the event on Thursday afternoon (May 2) at Sofitel New York in New York City.

Just days earlier, all of these stars earned Tony nominations for their work in the 2023-2024 Broadway season.

The 77th Annual Tony Awards will air live on CBS on Sunday, June 16 and it’s taking place at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts for the first time.

The 68-year-old media mogul supported close pal Tyler Perry at the premiere of his new movie A Jazzman’s Blues on Sunday (September 11) at Roy Thomson Hall in Toronto, Canada.

Also in attendance at the premiere were the stars of the movie Joshua Boone, Solea Pfeiffer, Ryan Eggold, Amirah Vann, Austin Scott, Evan Williams, and Milauna Jackson.
