It’s been nearly 10 years since The Vampire Diaries came to an end.

The popular CW supernatural drama aired it’s series finale in March 2017 after airing 171 episodes across eight seasons. It debuted in September 2009.

TVD also spawned two spinoffs – The Originals and Legacies - which both also aired on The CW, and there’s also been talk of a fourth series set in the universe.

Based on the book series by LJ Smith and created by Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec, the show centered on “seventeen-year-old Elena is torn between two vampire brothers, good Stefan and the evil Damon, who face new dangers in the town of Mystic Falls.”

The cast of the popular vampire series included Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley, Ian Somerhalder, Steven R McQueen, Kat Graham, Candice King, Zach Roerig, Michael Trevino, Matthew Davis.

Since it’s debut in 2009, the stars have gone on to have successful careers in Hollywood, and they have wracked up impressive fortunes in the process. But who is the wealthiest? Tiffany Haddish shows off her smile while stepping out for the People and InStyle Drive-By Party held at Lavo in the Palazzo tower at The Venetian on Friday (November 21) in Las Vegas.

The 45-year-old comedian and actress joined several other celebs at the event held during the 2025 Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix weekend.

Ian Somerhalder is opening up about a difficult moment he experienced while filming The Vampire Diaries.

In an excerpt from the upcoming book I Was Feeling Epic: An Oral History of the Vampire Diaries, the actor revealed that during Season 3, he was so unhappy with the direction of his character (Damon Salvatore) that he nearly quit the CW show.

Ian explained that he didn’t want Damon to become a romantic lead as the character of Stefan (Paul Wesley) got to explore a dark villain arc.
