The first season of Shifting Gears, a new ABC comedy series, came to an end this week and we have some details to share about a potential second season.
ABC has not yet renewed Shifting Gears for season two, but it seems likely to happen and the show’s executive producer Michelle Nader is already coming up with ideas for the storyline.
The show follows a widower Matt (Tim Allen) who runs an auto shop, who reluctantly takes in his estranged daughter Riley (Kat Dennings) and her two children.

It has been over a decade since Jenna Elfman has starred in a multi-camera television comedy series, but she’s back for the ABC show Shifting Gears!

Tim stars as the widowed owner of a classic car restoration shop who is confronted with his most unexpected and challenging project yet when his estranged daughter, Riley (Kat Dennings), and her adolescent children come crashing back into his life.
Jenna is joining the first season as a recurring guest star, playing Eve Drake, “a spirited choreographer and owner of the dance studio across from Parker Customs.” Jenna is best known for starring in the beloved ABC sitcom Dharma & Greg.
In this exclusive clip from the February 26 episode, Matt confronts Eve about the picnic table in their shared space.

Okea Eme-Akwari, Cailey Fleming, Eleanor Matsuura, Paola Lazaro, Emily Kinney, Lauren Ridloff, Khary Payton, Chandler Riggs, Deborah Joy Winans, Medina Senghore, Michael James Shaw were also spotted at the event with Demi Lovato, Yvette Nicole Brown, Terry Crews, Teo Rapp-Olsson, Callan McAuliffe, Laila Robins, Michael Rooker, Jenna Elfman, Angel Theory, Josh McDermitt, and Cooper Andrews.

Fear the Walking Dead‘s Jenna Elfman is a practicing Scientologist and despite the controversy surrounding the religion, she’s not here for it.
“The controversy is boring,” the 48-year-old actress revealed the Us Weekly. “It’s nothing to me. I know what I know, and how much it helps me.” She added that the Church of Scientology has helped her “stay grounded.”
Some celebrities who have spoken out about Scientology include Leah Remini, who formerly practiced but left. Leah has slammed Scientology and the figureheads over the years numerous times.
It’s rare to hear comments from celebrity Scientologists, which include Tom Cruise, Elisabeth Moss and John Travolta.
