The Institute isn’t going anywhere just yet.

MGM+ has officially renewed the thriller series, based on the 2019 Stephen King novel, for an eight-episode second season.

Season 1 concludes on Sunday night (August 24) at 9 p.m. ET with a finale that brings the characters together for a final confrontation with unimaginable consequences.

The news was revealed directly by Stephen himself, who announced the renewal in a new video message.

Ben Barnes is dating former American Idol contestant Aubrey Cleland!

After months of romance rumors, the 43-year-old actor and the 32-year-old singer were spotted looking very much like a couple during a date night.

Ben and Aubrey were seen walking arm-in-arm while getting dinner this week in London, England.

Aubrey was seen as Ben‘s love interest for the music video for his song “Nevermind,” which was released back in December 2024. Watch below!

Following the release of the video, Aubrey has collaborated with Ben musically, including a performance during his January 2025 show in Portland.

During a February 2025 concert, Ben talked about writing a song after a bad breakup, but assured the audience that he is “very happy” now.

Aubrey uses her Instagram account to share the artwork she makes and Ben has left several comments with hearts on her posts.

After making it to the Top 12 on American Idol season 12 back in 2013, Aubrey ventured into acting. She most recently appeared in episodes of the HBO Max shows The Pitt and The Sex Lives of College Girls.

Ben Barnes is reacting to the news about Greta Gerwig‘s The Chronicles of Narnia.

If you don’t know, the 43-year-old actor starred as Prince Caspian in the 2008 and 2010 films based on the fan favorite books.

Now, a new Netflix adaptation is coming. Greta wrote the script for the upcoming film and she’s also directing the project. The movie will be an adaptation of “The Magician’s Nephew,” the sixth novel in the C.S. Lewis book series.

Mary-Louise Parker is making a rare red carpet appearance with daughter Ash!

The 60-year-old Emmy-winning actress was joined by her daughter at the SXSW London premiere of her new series The Institute on Thursday (June 5) at The Barbican Centre in London, England.

Mary-Louise was joined at the event by her co-stars Ben Barnes, Simone Miller, Joe Freeman, and Fionn Laird, as well as director Jack Bender and executive producer Ben Cavell.

Deadline reports that The Institute is based on the 2019 novel Stephen King. In the eight-episode series, “When 12-year-old genius Luke Ellis is kidnapped, he awakens at The Institute, a facility full of children who all got there the same way he did, and who are all possessed of unusual abilities. In a nearby town, haunted former police officer Tim Jamieson (Barnes) has come looking to start a new life, but the peace and quiet won’t last, as his story and Luke’s are destined to collide.”

Mary-Louise welcomed her daughter Ash via adoption in 2007. She’s also the mother of 21-year-old son William with ex Billy Crudup.

Ben Barnes is addressing all of those rumors surrounding the Harry Potter reboot series!

As HBO works on rebooting the beloved franchise for a new TV series, there have been a lot of rumors circulating online that the 43-year-old Shadow and Bone actor is in the running to play Sirius Black.
