Tom Hanks to Play Abraham Lincoln in 'Lincoln in the Bardo' Movie

Tom Hanks is about to play Abraham Lincoln!
The 69-year-old Forrest Gump star is set to portray the 16th President of the United States in the live-action/stop-motion animation hybrid movie called Lincoln in the Bardo, based on the acclaimed George Saunders book.

He’ll play a live-action version of Lincoln, with production taking place in London, England, per Deadline.
Duke Johnson is set to direct and co-produce.
Here’s a synopsis: “Lincoln in the Bardo will employ a unique blend of stop-motion animation and live action to explore one of the most intimate moments of Lincoln’s life, centering on his relationship with his recently deceased 11-year-old son. The movie will explore themes of love, empathy and human capacity in the face of grief as the story unfolds through an ensemble of characters, both living and dead, historical and invented.”
Further casting has yet to be announced, and there is no release date set just yet.
