Sam Worthington's Wife Expresses Confusion Over 'Avatar 3' Getting a Golden Globe Nomination

Avatar: Fire and Ash received a Golden Globe nomination today, but Sam Worthington‘s wife is expressing confusion over how it scored the nomination in the first place.

Sam plays Jake Sully in the smash hit franchise and he has been married to his wife Lara since 2014. They’ve posed for photos at the film’s premieres over the past week!

Avatar: Fire and Ash was nominated in the Golden Globe category for Best Cinematic and Box Office Achievement… even though the movie has earned $0 at the box office so far.

Lara left a comment on the official Avatar page’s post to express her confusion.

“Box office achievement?? The movie isn’t even out yet!!!” she wrote.

Also nominated in the category are F1, KPop Demon Hunters, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, Sinners, Weapons, Wicked: For Good, and Zootopia 2.

The four top-grossing movies of 2025 were all snubbed: A Minecraft Movie, Lilo & Stitch, Superman, and Jurassic World: Rebirth.
