The two-time Oscar winner shaved her head for her role in the newest Yorgos Lanthimos movie Bugonia, in which she plays a pharmaceutical CEO who gets kidnapped by conspiracy-obsessed men believing her to be an alien.

During an interview with People, Emma shared that she wanted to preserve an element of “surprise or an interesting moment,” even though she didn’t enjoy wearing beanies for months to keep her bald head hidden.

Emma Stone, Jesse Plemons, & More Step Out for 'Bugonia' Premiere in NYC!

Emma Stone is hitting the red carpet in New York City!

The 35-year-old two-time Oscar winner joined co-stars Jesse Plemons and Alicia Silverstone along with director Yorgos Lanthimos at the premiere of their new movie Bugonia on Tuesday night (October 21) held at the Museum of Modern Art in NYC.

Fellow cast members in attendance included Aidan Delbis and Stavros Halkias.

Here’s a brief synopsis: “Two conspiracy obsessed young men kidnap the high-powered CEO of a major company, convinced that she is an alien intent on destroying planet Earth.”

Bugonia will be released in theaters for a special engagement on October 24 ahead of a wide expansion on October 31. Watch the trailer here!

Cinephiles are paying homage to Emma Stone‘s bald look in her new movie Bugonia by attending an early screening with a unique price of admission—you had to be bald already or willing to be shaved.

The screening took place at The Culver Theater in Los Angeles on Monday night (October 20). Plenty of people did indeed line up to get their hair sheared off in exchange for seeing the movie before everyone else, reports New York Post.
