Sam Worthington and James Cameron are hitting the red carpet!

The 49-year-old Australian actor and the 71-year-old Oscar-winning filmmaker stepped out for the premiere of Avatar: Fire And Ash on Saturday (December 13) in Wellington, New Zealand.

Joining James at the premiere was his wife Suzy Amis Cameron.

Fellow cast members in attendance included Cliff Curtis, Jack Champion, and Duane Evans Jr.

The night before, Zoe Saldaña attended a special screening of the new movie in Miami.

The third movie in the blockbuster franchise takes audiences back to Pandora in an immersive new adventure with Marine turned Na’vi leader Jake Sully (Worthington), Na’vi warrior Neytiri (Saldaña), and the Sully family.

Zoe Saldaña steps out for the Chinese premiere of Avatar: Fire and Ash held at Sanya Bay Convention Center on Tuesday (December 9) in Sanya, China.

The 47-year-old actress was joined by director James Cameron for the next stop of their global press tour to promote the upcoming movie.

That same day, Sam Worthington, Stephen Lang, Jack Champion, Trinity Jo-Li Bliss and Bailey Bass hit the red carpet at the Italian premiere held at arcadia Cinema Melzo in Milan.

In her hometown, Oona Chaplin went solo for the Spanish premiere of the movie at Kinépolis Ciudad de la Imagen in Madrid.

The cast first premiered the movie in Los Angeles the week before, and were last seen all together at the French premiere on Friday (December 5).

Avatar: Fire and Ash received a Golden Globe nomination today, but Sam Worthington‘s wife is expressing confusion over how it scored the nomination in the first place.

Sam plays Jake Sully in the smash hit franchise and he has been married to his wife Lara since 2014. They’ve posed for photos at the film’s premieres over the past week!

Avatar: Fire and Ash was nominated in the Golden Globe category for Best Cinematic and Box Office Achievement… even though the movie has earned $0 at the box office so far.

The trailer for Riz Ahmed and Lily James‘ new movie has been released!

The two actors star in the new thriller Relay directed by David Mackenzie and written by Justin Piasecki.

In Relay, Riz “plays a world class ‘fixer’ who specializes in brokering lucrative payoffs between corrupt corporations and the individuals who threaten their ruin. He keeps his identity a secret through meticulous planning and always follows an exacting set of rules. Avatar 3 is going to be a long one!

Ahead of the release of the third installment – called Fire and Ash – in the record-breaking franchise, director James Cameron revealed some new details about what to expect for the movie in an interview.

And according to the director, it’ll be even longer than 2022′s The Way of Water, which was 3 hours and 12 minutes long!

James told Empire that he and his writers developed too much material for The Way of Water, and when production began, they had to move some of the story from that movie into the upcoming sequel, Fire and Ash.

“In a nutshell, we had too many great ideas packed into act one of movie 2,” he said.

“The [film] was moving like a bullet train, and we weren’t drilling down enough on character. So I said, ‘Guys, we’ve got to split it.’”

As a result, “movie 3 will actually be a little bit longer than movie 2.”

Zac Efron was among the celebrities in attendance at the 2024 Formula 1 Rolex Australian Grand Prix on Sunday (March 24) in Melbourne, Australia.

The 36-year-old actor was joined by his brother Dylan Efron (not pictured), and was even seen chatting with Sam Worthington inside the Red Bull Racing garage.

At one point, Sam was also seen talking with Red Bull team principle Christian Horner.

It was an unfortunate race for Red Bull as Max Verstappen‘s car faced a mechanical issue and was out of the race on the third lap. His teammate Sergio Perez landed in fifth place.

Winning the race was Carlos Sainz, who just had appendicitis surgery two weeks prior. He was followed by teammate Charles Leclerc, in a big 1-2 win for Ferrari, and McLaren’s Lando Norris in P3.

Aside from his model wife, Sam‘s Avatar co-star Stephen Lang and his wife Kristina Watson were there to support him. Meanwhile, Miranda was joined by husband Evan Spiegel.

Before Daniel Craig was cast as James Bond in Casino Royale, Avatar star Sam Worthington was in the running for the role.

However, the 46-year-old actor revealed one thing that might have cost him the role that at least nine stars auditioned for before Daniel was cast.

He opened up about the failed audition in a new interview.

“I did go for Bond. I went, did the audition with Martin Campbell who ended up directing Casino Royale awesome. Put me in the tuxedo,” Sam shared while on the Fitzy & Wippa podcast.

“You do a screen test from the movie From Russia With Love,” he said of the audition process, noting that it wasn’t working for him. “You walk in there’s the girl in the bed, you charm her and I could get the killer of Bond down I just couldn’t get the charm, I couldn’t charm her. The suit didn’t fit man.”

Sam also shared that his attempt at a British accent might have cost him the role.

“Well I said if I do an Australian I’m gonna be the next George Lazenby. He only did one and I didn’t want to be like that. So I tried British it was awful,” he recalled. “I sounded like Dick Van Dyke from Mary Poppins. I remember Martin going just do your normal voice, it’s all cool man.”

He also had some unique ideas for the role, which were not well received: “Did say to them I wanted to wear the white tuxedo like Roger Moore. I wanted to bring back kung fu chops and they looked at me like I was crazy.”

Sam also opened up about another role he auditioned for that went to an A-lister.

Sam Worthington lost out on a job to Ryan Reynolds after the breakout success of Avatar.

The 46-year-old Avatar: The Way of Water actor was up for the lead role in Ryan‘s critically panned Green Lantern, which was released in 2011.

However, looking back on it now, it doesn’t sound like he was into the role. Sam opened up about the project in a new interview.

“It didn’t make much sense to me — the suit comes out of his skin,” Sam recalled saying about the titular superhero behind the movie.

“And I was like, ‘He’s got this powerful ring that can create anything. Well, what can beat the ring?’ The answer was, ‘Nothing.’ I was like, ‘Well, something needs to beat it, or it won’t be very interesting,’” he added.

Green Lantern wound up being a bit of a dud and has a 26% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Sam also opened up about his sobriety.

Sam Worthington has been sober for eight years, and he is shedding light on his struggles with alcohol addiction.

The 46-year-old actor found breakout success after landing a leading role as Jake Sully in 2009′s Avatar. However, he discussed how his experience with fame became overwhelming and influenced an unhealthy relationship with alcohol.

The star opened up about what drove him to sobriety in a recent interview.

“Drinking helped me get through the day,” Sam told Variety, opening up for the first time about the experience. “Nine out of 10 people couldn’t tell.”

“They could probably smell it on me, but when they looked at me, they couldn’t tell. I was still doing my job – I just don’t think I was doing it very well,” he added.

The star explained that his newfound fame and lack of privacy led to anxiety, which fed into his drinking.

Sam estimated that he’d drink up to five glasses of champagne while waiting for a flight to take off and credited Australian culture for changing his perception of alcohol.

“We don’t necessarily talk about AA and things like that. You don’t recognize it’s an illness, and you don’t understand that some people are just wired differently,” he explained.

He described himself as “an emotional drunk,” adding, “I got more emotional and erratic the longer I drank. I don’t think I was mean, exactly, but I could be belligerent, petulant.”

Ultimately, he credited his wife Lara Worthington for helping him realize that he needed to stop drinking.

“You can do what you want, but I don’t need to be around this,” he recalled her saying.

The cast of Avatar: The Way of Water stepped out in full force for the film’s L.A. premiere!

Sam Worthingon, Zoe Saldana, and more walked the carpet at the Dolby Theater on Monday night (December 12) in Hollywood.

More cast members in attendance included Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Joel David Moore, Jamie Flatters, Britain Dalton, Trinity Jo-Li Bliss, Jack Champion, and Bailey Bass, as well as producer Jon Landau and Disney CEO Bob Iger.

The film’s director James Cameron was unable to attend after he tested positive for COVID-19.

Set more than a decade after the events of the first film, Avatar: The Way of Water begins to tell the story of the Sully family (Jake, Neytiri, and their kids), the trouble that follows them, the lengths they go to keep each other safe, the battles they fight to stay alive, and the tragedies they endure.  

The movie hits theaters on Friday!
