Sadie Sink Teases Her 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' Character: 'People Forget That Hair Color Can Change'

With the final season of Stranger Things just days away from premiering, Sadie Sink is thinking about what’s next for her career.

The actress, best known as Max Mayfield, is set to make her Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in Spider-Man: Brand New Day next summer, and fans are dying to know who she’s going to play.

The situation mirrors the intense hype surrounding Stranger Things, as show creators Matt and Ross Duffer have done everything they can to hide Max’s fate following her coma in Season 4.

For the MCU, fans suspect Sadie will play a red-headed superhero. Theories range from a new iteration of Jean Grey/Phoenix to The Punisher’s sidekick Rachel Cole-Alves. Some even believe she might be playing the “real” Mary-Jane Watson.

“A lot of people forget that hair color can change, but, yeah, I understand all of the theories,” the John Proctor Must Die star told Entertainment Weekly in a new interview.

Sadie noted that while she is navigating press for two massive franchises, Marvel is significantly more “secretive” than the Netflix hit.

Tom [Holland] can wave at the fans because people know who he is, but then you get a glimpse of me and I’m like a penguin. That’ll be the situation for a bit, it seems,” she joked, referencing paparazzi photos from the set that showed her covered head-to-toe in a large jacket to hide her costume.

As for how she feels about the veil of secrecy? Sadie says people will have to “wait and see,” admitting she’s “excited for all of it to maybe be put to rest,” regarding the constant speculation.

The 23-year-old actress has two major projects lined up for 2026, find out more!
