Jeremy O. Harris was in a terrifying situation last year when he was arrested in Japan and held in prison for 23 days without being given access to his lawyer, but he is viewing it as a positive experience in the end.
The 36-year-old playwright and actor is best known for writing the acclaimed show Slave Play and for his guest appearance as Grégory Elliot Duprée in four episodes of the Netflix series Emily in Paris.
Back in November, Jeremy was stopped at Japan’s Naha Airport on Okinawa island. A customs officer allegedly found “0.78 grams of crystal containing the synthetic narcotic MDMA in his tote bag.”
Jeremy was later released “without charges” and decided to stay in Japan to research the project he traveled there for.
Now, in a chat with Whoopi Goldberg for Interview Magazine, Jeremy is explaining why it turned into a positive experience for him.

Jessica Alba, Emma Roberts, and more stars were in attendance for the SS26 runway show on Monday (September 15) in New York City.
They were seen sitting alongside Ciara, Tessa Thompson, Naomi Watts, and more in the front row at the event.

Tory said in a statement, “For Spring/Summer 2026, we were thinking about the complexity of women and different facets of their style. Femininity and strength, precision and imperfection. The clash of pristine tailoring with naïve florals, seed beading and distressed leather. We continued to reinterpret American sportswear, juxtaposed with touches of romance, sentimentality and craft. A piped blazer was inspired by my father, and we referenced antique samplers for monogram embroidery with our design team’s initials.”

Charli XCX is stepping out for the premiere of her new indie movie Erupcja!
The 33-year-old singer is making her feature film acting debut with this project and she attended the world premiere at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival on Thursday night (September 4) in Toronto, Canada.
Charli wore a sheer dress on the red carpet. She was joined by co-stars and co-writers Lena Gora, Jeremy O. Harris, and Will Madden, plus director and co-writer Pete Ohs. The movie “observes the combustible chemistry between a Polish florist (Lena) and a British tourist (Charli).”
The movie doesn’t yet have a theatrical release date for public audiences.
Charli has a budding acting career in the works and her other new movie 100 Nights of Hero will premiere at the Venice Film Festival this weekend.
