Kerry Washington Supports Husband Nnamdi Asomugha at Screening of His New Movie 'The Knife'

Kerry Washington is supporting her husband Nnamdi Asomugha amid the release of his new movie!

Nnamdi is the director, co-writer, co-producer, and star of the new movie The Knife and Kerry hosted a screening event on Monday (August 11) at the Ray Kurtzman Theater in Los Angeles.

Also stepping out were Nnamdi‘s co-writer Mark Duplass and his co-star Melissa Leo.

Special guests included Regina King, David Oyelowo, and longtime couple Zooey Deschanel and Jonathan Scott, among others.

Here’s the film’s synopsis: “Construction worker Chris (Asomugha) is prepared to do whatever he can to build a solid life for his family, yet his plans are thrown into disarray after a mysterious woman appears in their new home late one night. By the time police arrive, the intruder is lying on the kitchen floor unconscious, a knife in her hand, and it falls to steadfast Detective Carlsen (Leo) to uncover the truth about what happened. Under questioning, Chris, his wife Alex (Aja Naomi King) and their young daughters Ryley (Aiden Price) and Kendra (Amari Price) close ranks, hoping to safeguard one another’s secrets—but the choices they make lead to consequences graver than they could ever imagine.”

The movie will hit select theaters on August 15.

Charlize Theron Joined by 'The Old Guard 2' Co-Stars at Her Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project Block Party

Charlize Theron gets support from her co-stars at the 2025 Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project Block Party held at Universal Studios Backlot on Saturday (June 28) in Los Angeles.

The 49-year-old actress was joined by her The Old Guard 2 co-stars Henry Golding, KiKi Layne and Marwan Kenzari at the event that supports her charity foundation.

At the event, Charlize also reunited with her Gringo co-star David Oyelowo and his wife Jessica.

Other celebs in attendance include Lilly Singh, Pierson Fode, Malin Akerman, Jessica Camacho, Elliot Knight, Alexandra Shipp, Sean Evans, Jacob Scipio, Christian Serratos, Lesley-Ann Brandt, Samantha Hanratty and Aubrey Anderson-Emmons.

Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project supports “transformative, locally-led change by partnering with community-based organizations that support young people, their sexual and reproductive health and rights, and gender-based violence prevention.”

Earlier in the week, Charlize and her The Old Guard 2 co-stars stepped out for the upcoming movie’s red carpet premiere. The film debuts on Netflix next Friday, July 2nd. Watch the trailer here!

'Government Cheese' Season 2? Apple TV+ Show's Renewal Status Revealed

Government Cheese is coming to an end.

The show, which launched on April 16 on Apple TV+, is wrapping up Season 1 today (Wednesday, 28).

The series is a surrealist family comedy set in 1969 San Fernando Valley that tells the story of the Chambers, a quirky family pursuing lofty and seemingly impossible dreams, beautifully unfettered by the realities of the world.

When Hampton Chambers (David Oyelowo) is released from prison, his long-awaited family reunion doesn’t go quite as he’d planned. During his absence, Hampton’s wife, Astoria (Simone Missick), and sons, Einstein (Evan Ellison) and Harrison (Jahi Di’Allo Winston), have formed an unconventional family unit, and Hampton’s return spins their world into chaos.

Naturally, fans of the show are wondering if the show will get a Season 2.
