On Thursday (February 5), HBO debuted the first look at the upcoming comedy series Rooster starring the 63-year-old Golden Globe-winning actor.

Here’s the logline: “A comedy set on a college campus centering on an author’s (Carell) complicated relationship with his daughter (Charly Clive).

'The Paper' Cast: 2 Original 'The Office' Cast Members Won't Appear, 1 Would (If Asked), & 2 Join Cast!

The Office spinoff was officially ordered at Peacock, and we’re now learning of several original cast members who have not been approached, with one shutting the door entirely on appearing.

First, the series is titled The Paper.

Here’s the synopsis of the new series, from Peacock: The documentary crew that immortalized Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton branch is in search of a new subject when they discover a dying historic Midwestern newspaper and the publisher trying to revive it with volunteer reporters. The series is produced by Universal Television.

Judd Apatow Reveals How Steve Carell's 'Anchorman' Role Inspired 'The 40-Year-Old Virgin'

Judd Apatow is looking back on how Steve Carell‘s hilarious turn in Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy helped launch one of his biggest movies.

During an appearance on The Lamorning After Podcast, the comedy filmmaker revealed that Steve’s scene-stealing work as Brick Tamland directly inspired The 40-Year-Old Virgin.

Anchorman, set in the 1970s, follows anchorman Brick Tamland, San Diego’s top-rated newsreader, who is confronted by an ambitious newswoman who becomes his co-anchor.

Carell was so funny that it was blowing everyone’s mind,” he said.

“It was this thing where everyone was killing it, but people were especially shocked at how riotous Steve was being all day with these crazy improvs. And it was just something magical happening with Carell doing Brick.”

Steve Carell Joins Jason Schwartzman, Ramy Youssef, & Cory Michael Smith at 'Mountainhead' Premiere in NYC!

Steve Carell is stepping out for the world premiere of his new HBO Max movie!

The 62-year-old Emmy-nominated actor joined co-stars Jason Schwartzman, Ramy Youssef, and Cory Michael Smith at the premiere of Mountainhead on Thursday evening (May 22) held at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.

Fellow cast members in attendance included Hadley Robinson, Ali Kinkade, Daniel Oreskes, and Ava Kostia along with director Jesse Armstrong.

Mountainhead tells the story of “a group of billionaire friends who get together against the backdrop of a rolling international crisis.”

Steve stars in the leading role of Randall. Meanwhile, Jason plays Souper, while Ramy plays Jeff, and Cory plays Veins.

Mountainhead will be available for streaming on HBO Max on May 31. Watch the trailer here!
