Star Trek veteran Kate Mulgrew, Star Trek: Picard star Michelle Hurd, and famed science educator Bill Nye came out to the NYC premiere held at American Museum of Natural History on Tuesday night (January 6) to celebrate the show with the rest of the cast. He made the announcement via a video message during a panel at 2025 New York Comic Con on Saturday (October 11).

Paramount+ has debuted the first teaser trailer for the upcoming new series Star Trek: Starfleet Academy!
The teaser was unveiled on Saturday (July 26) at 2025 Comic-Con, and features the show’s San Francisco campus and the new starship, U.S.S. Athena. New character details were also revealed.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is back!
Season 3 of the Paramount+ hit original series premiered today (Thursday, July 17), with two episodes dropping exclusively on the streamer.
Following the premiere, new episodes will drop weekly on Thursdays, with the season finale on Thursday, September 11.
Paramount+ previously announced the series has also been renewed for a fourth season, which is currently in production. And not only that, there’s a fifth and final season on the way too!
In Season 3, when we reconnect with the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise, still under the command of Captain Pike, they face the conclusion of season two’s harrowing encounter with the Gorn. Michelle Yeoh and Omari Hardwick are stepping out to promote their new Star Trek movie!
The co-stars posed together on the purple carpet at the premiere of Star Trek: Section 31 on Wednesday night (January 22) held at Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City.
Fellow cast members in attendance included Miku Martineau, James Hiroyuki Liao, Humberly González, Kacey Rohl, Sven Ruygrok, and Robert Kazinsky.
Also in attendance at the premiere was Paul Giamatti, who will be starring in the upcoming new spinoff series Star Trek: Starfleet Academy.
Here’s the movie’s official synopsis: “Yeoh reprises her fan-favorite role as Emperor Philippa Georgiou – a character she played in STAR TREK: DISCOVERY’s first season – who joins a secret division of Starfleet. Tasked with protecting the United Federation of Planets, she also must face the sins of her past.”
