Several actors are responding to the boycott of Israeli film institutions in a new open letter.

If you did not see, last week, thousands of stars signed a pledge that they would not work with festivals, broadcasters, cinemas or production companies they believe are “implicated in genocide and apartheid against the Palestinian people.” Emma Stone, Joaquin Phoenix, and more big names signed.

Now, in an effort from the Creative Community for Peace and The Brigade, a group of new artists including Liev Schreiber, Mayim Bialik and Debra Messing are asking those who signed the first pledge to reconsider.

Chanel is celebrating women filmmakers!

The fashion house, along with Tribeca co-founder and CEO Jane Rosenthal. hosted a special luncheon to celebrate the 10th annual THROUGH HER LENS: The Tribeca Chanel Women’s Filmmaker Program on Tuesday (September 16) held at Locanda Verde in New York City.

Stars in attendance included Sarah Paulson, Mariska Hargitay, Lucy Liu, and Kaitlyn Dever.

Mariska Hargitay has the support of her family during her big night at the 2025 Tribeca Film Festival!

The 61-year-old Emmy-winning actress was joined by husband Peter Hermann and their three kids – August, 18, Amaya, 14, and Andrew, 13 – at the premiere of her directorial debut My Mom Jayne on Friday evening (June 13) held at Carnegie Hall in New York City.

For those who don’t know, Mariska is the daughter of legendary actress Jayne Mansfield and the documentary follows her legacy. The documentary revealed a shocking family secret – the identity of Mariska‘s biological father.

The best of Broadway and off-Broadway were honored this past weekend at the 2025 Drama Desk Awards!

Audra McDonald, Jasmine Amy Rogers, and Sarah Snook all accepted the top acting prizes at the awards show on Sunday (June 1) at the NYU Skirball Center in New York City.

The event featured gender-free performance categories with each category featuring twice as many nominees as the former gendered ones. Each acting category also had two winners, with one category getting three winners because of a tie!

Audra and Jasmine won the awards for Outstanding Lead Performance in a Musical for their work in Gypsy and BOOP! The Musical, respectively. Sarah won Outstanding Lead Performance in a Play for her work in The Picture of Dorian Gray. The second win in that category went to The Hills of California‘s Laura Donnelly, who wasn’t in attendance.

Also pictured inside are Outstanding Featured Performance in a Play winners Amalia Yoo (John Proctor is the Villain) and Kara Young (Purpose), as well as Outstanding Featured Performance in a Musical winners Jak Malone (Operation Mincemeat) and Michael Urie (Once Upon a Mattress).

Andrew Scott picked up the Outstanding Solo Performance award for Vanya.

Other nominees in attendance included Sunset Blvd‘s Nicole Scherzinger and Tom Francis, Death Becomes Her‘s Jennifer Simard, Maybe Happy Ending‘s Darren Criss and Helen J. Some of Broadway’s biggest stars and some of the stars of the Smash television show were among the opening night guests for Smash on Broadway!

Kristin Chenoweth and Sarah Jessica Parker are among the celebs who walked the red carpet for the opening night performance on Thursday (April 10) at the Imperial Theatre in New York City.

SJP was joined by her husband Matthew Broderick and their 15-year-old twin daughters Marion and Tabitha.

Debra Messing, Christian Borle, and Wesley Taylor, who were all featured on the NBC series Smash, stepped out to watch the new stage version. The musical is inspired by the series and is not a direct adaptation.

More celebs who attended the event included Nathan Lane, Billy Crystal, Julianna Margulies, Victor Garber, Yvette Nicole Brown, Andrew Rannells, Jordan Roth (who had a cameo on the TV show), Amanda Kloots, and Patti Murin.

The musical features many of the songs that you know and love from the TV series, plus new material written for the stage show. Don’t expect the story that you already know because this one is different! Tickets for Smash are on sale through January 4. Get yours now!

Elizabeth Gillies gets support from Avan Jogia and Daniella Monet at the opening night celebration of her run in Little Shop of Horrors at Westside Theatre on Wednesday (March 5) in New York City.

The 31-year-old actress and her former co-stars had a little Victorious reunion at the show, along with another co-star, Lane Napper, who was not part of the group photos.

Elizabeth kicked off her run as Audrey in the musical last week, alongside fellow newcomers Milo Manheim (Seymour) and Jeremy Kushnier (Dr. Orin Scrivello DDS).

Other stars in attendance included former Audrey actresses Sarah Hyland and Jinkx Monsoon, Debra Messing, Gracie Lawrence, Peppermint, Erika Henningson, Bonnie Milligan, Aaron Simon Gross, Kalen Allen, Graham Phillips and Raul Esparza, as well as Milo‘s mom Camryn Manheim, and his School Spirits co-stars Nick Pugliese, Miles Elliot and Jess Gabor.
