Eddie Murphy is opening up about leaving the Oscars early back in 2007.
The 64-year-old actor and comedian was nominated that year for Best Supporting Actor for his role as James “Thunder” Early in the Dreamgirls movie. However, he lost the award to Alan Arkin, who won for Little Miss Sunshine.
During a recent discussion about his new Netflix documentary Being Eddie, he shared the real reason why he left the ceremony early after losing the award.

Saturday Night Live is back with it’s 51st season on air!
The NBC late night sketch show first debuted exactly 50 years ago TODAY, on October 11, 1975, from creator Lorne Michaels, who still executive produces and is in charge to this day.
Several celebrities have become household names after getting their start on Saturday Night Live and have gone on to have greatly successful careers.
Over the past 50 years, SNL has had over 150 comedians as cast members on the show, from the first ever cast including Chevy Chase, John Belushi, Dan Aykroyd and more, to the stars of today, which include Colin Jost, Bowen Yang, Michael Che and Kenan Thompson.

Eddie Murphy is standing by one of his less popular comedies, even if people think it lost him a major award!
The 64-year-old actor and comedian was a guest on Complex‘s “360 with Speedy” where he talked about his 2007 movie Norbit. During the interview, Eddie explained why he doesn’t think Norbit is his worst movie and opened up about the claims that it cost him an Oscar!
According to the rumors, Eddie was nominated for an Oscar for his role in Dreamgirls. Unfortunately for Eddie, not long after he was nominated, Norbit hit theaters to less-than-stellar reviews.
