Cassie is the star witness in the federal trial.

The two met in 2005 when she signed to Diddy‘s label at the age of 19, when he was 37. Their relationship first became public in 2007. They would publicly split and reconcile on and off until 2018.

In late 2023, Cassie came forward and accused Diddy of rape and abuse for over a decade.

Cassie‘s suit outlined an alleged pattern of control and abuse that included plying her with drugs, beating her, and forcing her to have sex with a succession of male prostitutes while he filmed the encounters. See the most serious allegations.

Diddy denied Cassie’s accusations in a statement provided by his attorney.

“Mr. Combs vehemently denies these offensive and outrageous allegations,” lawyer Ben Brafman said at the time. “For the past six months, Mr. Combs has been subjected to Ms. Ventura’s persistent demand of $30 million, under the threat of writing a damaging book about their relationship, which was unequivocally rejected as blatant blackmail. Despite withdrawing her initial threat, Ms. Ventura has now resorted to filing a lawsuit riddled with baseless and outrageous lies, aiming to tarnish Mr. Combs’s reputation and seeking a payday.”

The next day after Cassie‘s filing, they reached a settlement.

Surveillance footage from a 2016 incident surfaced in 2024, showing the music mogul chasing the singer down a hotel hallway before punching and kicking her to the floor. He apologized for the video later on, which Cassie‘s team slammed as “pathetic.”

Jurors have also been asked about two Manhattan hotels: The Essex House Hotel and The Peninsula, where some of the abuse allegedly occurred, per The Independent.

Michael B. Jordan

It’s not immediately clear how Michael is related to the trial, if at all. As Variety notes, Diddy famously hosted big Hollywood parties and had tons of celebrity connections.

Sources have suggested to the outlet that he appeared on the list because he went on a date with Cassie in 2015 and Diddy was said to be upset about it.

He will not be a witness in the trial, according to the report.
