Saturday Night Live has launched the careers of so many superstars.

The beloved NBC sketch comedy series has given a platform to countless talented stars to go on to become legends in the industry. And while they’ve fostered plenty of talent, producers of the show have also passed on a surprising amount of hilarious hopefuls who found success their own way.

Over the years, celebrities have revealed that they auditioned to be on SNL, and they were either fully rejected or eventually brought on as writers.

Many of them went on to become successful in their own right, and hosted the show themselves.

Jordan Peele’s film and television company Monkeypaw Productions caused quite a stir on social media this week.

On Monday (December 29), the company’s X/Twitter account quoted a post about a rumor that Jordan wants to direct a film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, adding only the eyes emoji. The cryptic response quickly led fans to suspect Monkeypaw was hinting at a potential deal in the works.

Tyriq Withers is stepping out for the premiere of his new horror movie!

The 27-year-old actor joined co-stars Marlon Wayans and Julia Fox at the premiere of Him on Wednesday evening (September 17) held at TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, Calif.

Fellow cast members in attendance Tim Heidecker, Naomi Grossman, Norman Towns, Maurice Greene, Guapdad 4000, Tierra Whack, and Don Benjamin.

Director Justin Tipping was also at the premiere along with producer Jordan Peele and wife Chelsea Peretti.

The trailer for Jordan Peele‘s new movie has been released!

On Friday (April 18), Universal Pictures debuted the first trailer for the upcoming horror movie HIM starring Tyriq Withers, Marlon Wayans, and Julia Fox, directed by Justin Tipping and produced by the Oscar-winning filmmaker.

Here’s the synopsis: “HIM stars former college wide-receiver Tyriq Withers as Cameron Cade, a rising-star quarterback who has devoted his life, and identity, to football. On the eve of professional football’s annual scouting Combine, Cam is attacked by an unhinged fan and suffers a potentially career-ending brain trauma.”

Big Mouth is coming back for the final time, and they’re bringing along a ton of talent!

The hit animated series returns to Netflix on May 23 with Season 8.

Here’s a synopsis: “In the eighth and final season of Big Mouth, our beloved Bridgeton teens tackle new challenges as high schoolers such as: driving, drugs, sexual inexperience, enthusiastic consent, p–n and the teenage mind, cancel culture, their changing bodies, and (in the end) fear of the looming future. Scare Tactics is back.

The classic comedy-horror series has been reimagined by Jordan Peele and Monkeypaw Productions, and will premiere this Friday (October 4) at 10 p.m. ET/PT on USA Network.

The episode will also air simultaneously across Bravo, SYFY and E!.

Here’s a plot summary: “This audacious reboot will turn unsuspecting individuals into the main characters of their very own horror movies in a cinematic approach to the hidden camera concept.”

Jordan Peele has a new feature coming.

Universal has set a release date for the Nope director’s next feature: October 23, 2026.

We were given no further details about the film, much like his latest projects, but it is notably releasing in the Halloween season, suggesting that it’s yet another horror movie from the acclaimed director.
