Netflix has released a first look at their new Pride and Prejudice TV show, starring Emma Corrin as Elizabeth Bennet and Jack Lowden as the iconic Mr. Darcy.

The Jane Austen adaptation also features Rufus Sewell as Mr. Bennet, Freya Mavor as Jane Bennet, Jamie Demetriou as Mr. Collins, Daryl McCormack as Mr. Bingley, Louis Partridge as Mr. Wickham, Rhea Norwood as Lydia Bennet, Siena Kelly as Caroline Bingley and Fiona Shaw as Lady Catherine de Bourg.

While no release date has been set, the streaming service did confirm it will be released in 2026.

It is said to be a faithful adaptation of the 1813 novel from Heartstopper director Euros Lyn and screenwriter Dolly Alderton.

Keira Knightley famously portrayed Elizabeth Bennet in the Pride and Prejudice film opposite Matthew Macfadyen‘s Mr. Darcy.

Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle played the roles in the 1995 BBC version.

Winona Ryder has officially joined the cast of Wednesday Season 3 at Netflix…and, Just Jared can confirm more about the cast!

This will mark a reunion with Winona and Tim Burton, who have worked together frequently over the years. It also marks a reunion with Jenna Ortega, the show’s star. All three worked together on 2024′s Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.

“I am so happy that Winona has joined us, she fits right into this world. And she’s a dear friend. I always feel lucky to work with her,” Tim said in a statement.

THR reports that she’ll have a guest starring role in the season, but it’s unclear who she will play at this time.

James Cameron is sharing his thoughts on the forthcoming possible merger of Netflix and Warner Bros.

The streamer is in negotiations to take control over Warner Bros.’ film and TV studios, as well as HBO and the streaming service HBO Max, in a massive deal valued at an estimated $82.7 billion.

The acclaimed Avatar filmmaker has now sent a letter to Utah Senator Mike Lee, who is the chair of the Senate subcommittee on antitrust, saying the merger could be disastrous for the film industry and theatrical moviegoing.

“My 44-year directing career has been focused on making movies for theatrical exhibition, and I believe strongly that seeing movies in theaters is an important pillar of our culture, to say nothing of being one of our biggest exports, in purely economic terms,” he said, via CNBC. “But the cinema marketplace has contracted sharply in recent years, by about 30%, due to media consumption habit-patterns changing as a result of the Covid pandemic and the concurrent rise of streaming.”

“I believe strongly that the proposed sale of Warner Brothers Discovery to Netflix will be disastrous for the theatrical motion picture business that I have dedicated my life’s work to,” James added. “Of course, my films all play in the downstream video markets as well, but my first love is the cinema.”

James also noted past comments by Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos where he has said movie theaters were “an outdated concept” and “outmoded idea,” as well as, “Driving folks to a theater is just not our business.”

“The business model of Netflix is directly at odds with the theatrical film production and exhibition business, which employs hundreds of thousands of Americans,” James wrote in his letter. “It is therefore directly at odds with the business model of the Warner Brothers movie division, one of the few remaining major movie studios. ‘Warners’ releases approximately 15 theatrical movies a year and the beleaguered moon picture exhibion community desperately depends on that output.”

He continued, “It will be a blow to the exhibition community (theater owners and their tens of thousands of employees) at a critical time to have this production output redirected to streaming.”

Amid the talks of the companies merging, Ted has affirmed that Warner Bros movies will maintain a theatrical release as before, but James notes he said it would be a 17 day window, which would be “ridiculously short” as currently many believe the minimum window should be 45 days.

“So 17 days is a token window, and grotesquely insufficient. Secondly, a pledge of any number of days does not mean anything unless there is a concomitant pledge of the number of theaters. A major film release typical goes out to over 3000 theaters day-and-date, in the domestic marketplace,” James said.

“Though a pledge for a theatrical window may be given now in order to assuage critics of this ill-conceived merger, there is no guarantee of how Netflix may run its business in years to come,” he added. “Their pledge to support theatrical releases (a business fundamentally at odds with their core business model) is likely to evaporate in a few years.”

Actor Mark Ruffalo has responded to James‘ letter, posing that he should now be asked if the filmmaker has an issue with Paramount acquiring Warner Bros, which would still be a monopoly in the marketplace.

“I think the answer would be very interesting for the film community to hear and one that should be asked immediately. Is Mike Lee against the Paramount sale as well? Is he as concerned about that as he is the Netflix sale?” Mark wrote on Twitter/X. “We all want to know. …Speaking on behalf of hundreds of thousands of film makers world wide.”

In response to someone’s reply to his tweet, Mark reacted, “Instead of what one is better than the other what we should be addressing is how either of these are good for the business, for making good movies with diverse points of view and making sure our business continues to work for the many and not the few.”

The Netflix and Warner deal is yet to be finalized, and Paramount is actively seeking a final deal over the streamer.

Before he passed away, Eric Dane gave one final in-depth interview to Netflix and the special was released just one day after he died at the age of 53.

The former Grey’s Anatomy actor passed away on Thursday (February 19) after a battle with ALS.

Eric chatted with host Brad Falchuk for the Famous Last Words interview series, which “gives audiences around the world the opportunity to hear from a cultural icon after they’ve passed away.”

At the end of the interview, Eric looked into the camera and addressed his two daughters, sharing his “last words” for them. You can read those comments in our other post.

Netflix has shared some portraits that were taken with Eric during the taping back in November, along with episodic stills. These appear to be the last-known photographs of the actor.

“We wanted Season 2 to stand on its own, and I feel like Season 2 has a satisfying conclusion, but also platforms and sets up a couple of things that will be part of Season 3,” series creator Shawn Ryan told Deadline. “I don’t view it as one extended season that’s being divided into two seasons, I view it as one specific story that ends but has some consequences to how Peter ended it that he’ll have to clean up as part of Season 3.”

“There will be new storylines in Season 3 that don’t relate at all to anything in Season 2. We want the seasons to feel separate, but there will be some carryover, and there will be some actors from Season 2 that carry over to season three,” he added.

The season one finale of Star Search took place on Tuesday night (February 17), and a winner has been crowned!

Netflix revived the talent competition series, where acts across numerous categories – music, dance, variety, comedy, magic and juniors – competed head to head for their shot at stardom and the grand prize.

Jelly Roll, Chrissy Teigen and Sarah Michelle Gellar served as judges, with Anthony Anderson as host.

At the start of the finale, the remaining eight contestants took part in four head-to-head challenges before the finale four were revealed.

After judges and fan voting, the final multiple choice vote came down to Harry Merlin Piper, Duo Vespertilio, Spud Howard and TJ Salta, with the viewers choosing the winner!

The cast of Bridgerton season 4 visits the Royal Palace!

Luke Thompson, Yerin Ha, and Hannah Dodd went to a photo call at the Royal Palace in Madrid, Spain on Monday (February 16) to take new photographs ahead of season 4, part 2.

The fourth season of Netflix’s popular romantic period drama based on Julia Quinn‘s book series is based on the novel An Offer from a Gentlemen. It revolves around the romance between Luke Thompson‘s character Benedict Bridgerton and Yerin Ha‘s Sophie Baek.

Francesca Bridgerton (Hannah Dodd) also has a larger role to play this time around involving her Michaela (Masali Baduza).

FYI: Hannah was wearing a look from Alexander McQueen‘s Spring Summer 2026 collection, including a tailored jacket and utility bumster skirt in navy fine pinstriped wool mohair.

Variety reports that the official description notes, “During their final summer at camp, old friends Shaggy and Daphne (Grace) get embroiled in a haunting mystery surrounding a lonely lost Great Dane puppy that may have been a witness to a supernatural murder. Together with the pragmatic and scientific townie, Velma, and the strange, but ever so handsome new kid, Freddy, they set out to solve the case that is pulling each of them into a creepy nightmare that threatens to expose all of their secrets.”

The young cast of Scoob also included Iain Armitage as Shaggy, Pierce Gagnon as Fred, and Ariana Greenblatt as Velma. No word yet if any of these actors will be in the live-action version too!

Mckenna recently went viral for an interview she gave when she was 10 years old.

Season two of Ransom Canyon is on the way!

The Netflix series set in Texas Hill Country was renewed for a second season in June 2025 and filming took place later in the year and has already wrapped.

Per The Wrap, in season two, “The future of Ransom Canyon hangs in the balance as ranching dynasties continue to vie for power, and new faces arrive, threatening the lives and loves of this quaint, western town.”

“I couldn’t be happier that Netflix is ready to get back in the saddle for Ransom Canyon!” creator and showrunner April Blair said in a statement. “Our dreamy little corner of Texas Hill Country is full of stories still untold, and we can’t wait to bring them to our incredible fans. Get ready for another ride.”

He continued, “The beauty of why people get upset when you cancel a show is because they love them. That’s the best part about our business, it’s that people really love the product. And it’s heartbreaking to cancel any show, ever, particularly a show that Norman Lear brought to me. It was his last show.”

Season two of the mystery thriller will be set in Hawaii, as a new case brings Eric Bana‘s Kyle Turner to Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park.

However, Deadline revealed this week that Shea Whigham has joined the cast of season two as Ray Burkart.

The character is described as a man “who moved from California to the Big Island of Hawaii 30 years ago, and has a hand in various businesses, some more legal than others. After suffering the tragic loss of his son, Burkart clashes with Turner in their search for his son’s killer.”

The Broadway play Stranger Things: The First Shadow will be filmed for a streaming release on Netflix.

The play originally opened in London and has been running on Broadway for the past year. Following the launch of Stranger Things season five, the play has received an uptick in interest and has been playing to sold-out audiences.

Now, Netflix is filming the play before the original cast departs the production. It was just announced that many of the lead actors, including Tony nominee Louis McCartney as Henry Creel, are leaving the show on March 29.

THR has confirmed that public performances are not happening this week while the cast films the production in private. Fans can attend performances again beginning on February 15.

Here is the synopsis of the play: “Are monsters born… or made? In 1959 Hawkins, Indiana, the Creel family seeks a fresh start, especially their teenage son Henry, who is eager to escape his troubled past. Initially, things go well — he finds friendship and joins the school play. But when a wave of shocking crimes strikes the town, Henry is forced to confront a terrifying truth: is there something inside him that connects him to the horrors unfolding around him? As this thrilling mystery races forward, shadows of the past are unleashed, relationships are tested, and the town of Hawkins faces the ultimate question: can the power of friendship outshine the darkness within?”
