Joy-Anna Duggar Forsyth has suffered a miscarriage.

The 21-year-old Counting On star revealed the sad news on her and 25-year-old husband Austin Forsyth‘s Instagram on Wednesday night (July 3).

“Today marks one week since we heard these words… ‘So this is your baby’s heart (pointing to the ultrasound screen). I don’t hear a heartbeat or see any movement,’” she wrote.

“We had gone in for our 20-week ultrasound and gender reveal. It was a baby girl. Although we don’t understand why, God has given us unexplainable peace and comfort during this very difficult time. Yes, it still hurts and we have cried countless tears, but we know that we can trust the Lord.”

Joy-Anna Duggar is officially married to Austin Forsyth!

The 19-year-old reality star walked down the aisle on Friday (May 27) after a three-month engagement.

Although their engagement was short, the couple have been lifelong friends and have know each other for over 15 years!

“Leading up, it was so surreal until I was walking down the aisle and then I was like, ‘Oh my goodness, it’s actually here.’ We are going to be traveling for our Honeymoon for awhile,” Joy-Anna said in a video.

Meanwhile, Joy-Anna‘s older brother Joseph just announced that he’s engaged!

The 22-year-old just popped the question to girlfriend Kendra Caldwell, who he has been courting for several months.
