A new trailer for Peacock‘s new series The ‘Burbs has been released!
On Friday (January 9), the streaming service debuted a new look at the upcoming murder-mystery comedy series starring Keke Plamer and Jack Whitehall.
Here’s the synopsis: “Inspired by the 1989 horror-comedy film of the same name and set in present-day suburbia, THE ‘BURBS follows a young couple who have reluctantly relocated to the husband’s childhood home. Their world is upended when a new neighbor moves in across the street, bringing old secrets of the cul-de-sac to light, and new deadly threats shatter the illusion of their quiet little neighborhood.”
The live-action The Cat in the Hat movie from 2003 was so poorly reviewed that Dr. Seuss‘ widow Audrey Geisel actually decided to never allow a live-action adaptation of any of his other books.
In the years since, all adaptations have been animated and now The Cat in the Hat is getting an animated feature film for the first time!
Doing what he does best, the Cat—voiced by Bill Hader—spreads joy to kids in his hilarious, signature and singularly irreverent way, transporting them and audiences on a fantastical journey through a world they’ve never seen before. In the film, our hero takes on his toughest assignment yet for the I.I.I.I. (Institute for the Institution of Imagination and Inspiration, LLC): to cheer Gabby and Sebastian, a pair of siblings struggling with their move to a new town. Known for taking things too far, this could be this agent of chaos’s last chance to prove himself…or lose his magical hat!
