Lisa Kudrow is currently filming the third season of HBO’s The Comeback and new photos have emerged from set, spoiling what Valerie Cherish will be up to next.

The Emmy-winning actress was spotted filming scenes outside of the Orpheum Theatre on Tuesday afternoon (September 30) in Los Angeles.

The first season of The Comeback followed B-List sitcom actress Valerie Cherish as she prepared for her return to network television in a new sitcom, all while documenting her comeback for a reality TV show. The second season followed her attempting to produce a reality TV pilot to pitch to Bravo’s Andy Cohen, nine years later.

Based on the photos from the set of The Comeback season three, it looks like we know what Valerie is doing in 2025.

It’s the comeback we’ve been waiting for!

Lisa Kudrow is officially back as Valerie Cherish in the third (and reportedly final) season of HBO’s cult comedy The Comeback.

The series first premiered in 2005, returned for Season 2 in 2014, and is now shooting its next chapter more than a decade later. Several fan-favorite co-stars are returning, plus four fresh faces are joining the cast.

Lisa co-created the series with Michael Patrick King, who also returns as executive producer.

The Comeback is coming back to HBO for a third and final season!

20 years after the first season debuted in 2005, and 10 years after season two, HBO has announced that Lisa Kudrow is returning as Valerie Cherish in the beloved series.

Season three will begin production this summer and will debut on HBO and HBO Max in 2026.

“Valerie Cherish has found her way back to the current television landscape. Neither of us are surprised she did,” Lisa said in a joint statement with series creator Michael Patrick King.

Amy Gravitt, Executive Vice President, HBO & Max Comedy Programming, said, “No matter what the industry throws at her, Valerie Cherish is a survivor. On the 20th Anniversary of her debut, Michael Patrick King and Lisa Kudrow have brilliantly scripted her return to HBO and we can’t wait to see that.”

Four returning cast members have been announced and one original star has sadly passed away since the second season aired.

Lisa Kudrow is opening up about The Comeback, 20 years later.

The 61-year-old actress, who plays Valerie Cherish in the beloved series, got candid in conversation with showrunner Michael Patrick King while looking back at the series with Variety.

When asked whether The Comeback would ever return for a Season 3, Michael said: “It’s really about whether we can find an idea worth going beyond one joke.”
