The Rookie spinoff pilot The Rookie: North has just added several familiar faces to its cast!
Froy Gutierrez, Janet Montgomery, Karen Fukuhara, Mya Lowe, and newcomer Malik Watson have joined alongside previously announced stars Jay Ellis and Chris Sullivan, reports Deadline.
Froy is known for his roles in Teen Wolf, The Strangers: Chapter 1, and Cruel Summer. He was also recently in the first season of I Love LA. He will play Odell Chance, a confident an athletic new rookie.
Salem and New Amsterdam fans will recognize Janet. She’s playing Charlotte Dru, Alex Holland’s (Jay Ellis) training officer. Karen stars in The Boys and Suicide Squad and is playing Odell’s training officer.
Maya is best known for My Life with the Walter Boys, Yellowjackets, and Murder in a Small Town. She has been cast as another new rookie named Elora Howe. Malik is her training officer, Mark Lewis.
The Rookie: North centers on Alex, “who believed his midlife wasn’t worthy of a crisis. But after a violent home invasion ignites a dormant purpose, Alex battles a lifetime of failed commitments in Los Angeles by joining the Pierce County Police Department in Washington as its oldest rookie.”
“Policing from the urban coast to the rural forest, where backup isn’t just five minutes away, Alex must prove to his skeptical training officer, his fellow rookies and himself that he’s finally found something worthy of the fight.”
The Rookie creator Alexi Hawley wrote the pilot episode and will direct. It is set to begin production this month in Vancouver.

Rachel Bilson, Camilla Belle, Kevin Costner, and Jordana Brewster were among the celebs who attended the charity event on Tuesday night (November 11) at The Rosewood Miramar in Montecito, Calif.
The event honored Oscar-nominated filmmaker Lee Daniels with The Visionary Award and music stars and activists Aly and AJ Michalka with The Spirit of Elysium Award. Fashion designer Christian Siriano received the Fashion Visionary Award and he designed a collection of couture pajamas for celebs to wear at the after party.
Andra Day presented the award to Lee and she also performed at the event.
More celebs in attendance included Jason Segel, Ike Barinholtz, Topher Grace and wife Ashley Hinshaw, Dita Von Teese, Alfie Allen, Christina Hendricks, Thomas Dekker, Josh Pence, and hot couple Zane Phillips and Froy Gutierrez.
The Art of Elysium is a nonprofit organization dedicated to healing and inspiring through the arts.

Hot couple Zane Phillips and Froy Gutierrez helped celebrate the grand opening of a new hotel in Mexico over the weekend!
Zane was seen going shirtless while hanging out at the pool with Froy during the grand opening weekend of The Tryst Puerto Vallarta on Saturday (April 26) in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
Zane wore just a small swim trunk while posing with Froy, who wore the viral “Protect the Dolls” t-shirt to support trans rights. While at the pool, Zane was also spotted hanging out with Chris Appleton, Kyle Krieger, and Mason Morrow while Froy posed for a photo with songwriter and DJ Leland.
Tryst Hotels are a “collection of luxury gay boutique hotels that offer an upscale, inclusive experience for guests seeking high-end accommodations with a vibrant, social atmosphere,” and are also set to open locations in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and Fire Island, New York, this year.
