Bloomberg got the scoop that the show is currently tentatively titled Dutton Ranch. In addition, they shared that Paramount is looking at the fall to release the new series.

Yellowstone has just come to an end after airing the fifth season finale, and perhaps the series finale, on Sunday night (December 15)!

While a season six renewal has not been confirmed, there have been some questions about the future of the show, even though it was previously said to end after this season.

Star Kelly Reilly even shared an emotional post ahead of the finale, saying this is the end of the show as we know it. However, it was recently announced a spinoff is in the works with her character!

So, how did Yellowstone end? The season finale was jam-packed and included yet another death.

The finale starts off with several of the ranch hands saying their goodbyes and where they are off to next. Jimmy, Mia and Travis go back to the 6666 in Texas, while Walker says he’s going to follow his girlfriend on the rodeo circuit.

Kayce sold off the Yellowstone ranch to Chief Thomas Rainwater for $1.25/acre, the same amount the Duttons purchased it for originally. As part of the deal, he secured the North Camp land for him, where he would live with Monica and Tate.

Speaking of land, Beth shows Rip a plot of land asking if they could find a way to make that their new home, and after they discussed it and he agreed, she said she already bought it that morning.

The Duttons laid patriarch John Dutton to rest at a small funeral with just the family, minus Jamie, where Beth promised to get retribution for her father’s death.

Following the funeral, Beth went straight to Jamie’s house, armed with bear spray and a big knife, where she snuck up on her estranged brother and the two got into a brawl.

During their fight, Jamie tells her that she is going to be arrested and charged with their father’s murder and she’ll rot in a jail cell as he oversees the ranch being sold in pieces to be transformed into a recreational destination.

She informs him that it was already sold and he gets more angry, but Rip shows up and throws him into a wall. Before Rip could do much damage, Beth interrupts him and shoves the knife right into Jamie’s heart and demanding he look her right in the eyes to fulfill her promise of being the last face he sees.

Next, she tells Rip to call 911, and that he should take the body to the train station, the ravine over the state border where there’s no police jurisdiction. She says she’ll spin a story that Jamie assaulted her and he ran off while she was unconscious.

Rip and Lloyd dispose of the body and set Jamie’s car on fire in a field in Iowa, while Beth’s story is validated and there are warrants issued for Jamie’s arrest.

At the end of the episode, Yellowstone signage is removed from the ranch by the tribe. Mo Brings Plenty follows a group of kids into the woods where he finds them destroying Dutton family headstones. He stops them and says it’s hallowed ground and as he puts headstones back in place, we hear the voice of Elsa Dutton, from 1883 played by Isabel May, as she narrates the ending moments and connects dots tracing back to the family’s first trek from Texas to Montana.

Kelly Reilly is saying goodbye to Yellowstone.

The 47-year-old actress, who plays Beth Hutton on the Paramount+ series, spoke out in an emotional post ahead of the Season 5 finale on Sunday (December 16).

“Hi, I’m so deep into another role at the moment about another land worth fighting for in the UK… but across the pond the finale is happening tonight of the show. Whatever the future holds this is the ending of the show we have been making for the past 7 years,” she wrote.

Kelly Reilly is addressing her fate in the Yellowstone universe.

The 47-year-old actress spoke out in an interview with Town & Country about the hit series, as well as the fate of her character, Beth Dutton.

“I love gearing up to play her, because there’s an adrenaline to Beth and it’s very energizing. But it’s also incredibly gnarly. I have to hide all of me away to put some of that on. I love her, but I can’t live with her,” she said of the role.

Kelly also talked about Beth’s fearlessness.

“It’s a fantasy. But as in all fantasies, there is a little 10 percent that you can distill and inhabit. It shifts the energy a bit: how you own yourself, how you feel about yourself. I have definitely gotten more backbone in my life because of Beth. I didn’t know I could walk into a room and do that. I’m less afraid of a room,” she said.

She also addressed Yellowstone’s cultural impact, noting: “I don’t participate in the noise in any way. I stay out of it. The only safe place for me is in the work—and then home with my husband. As for whether she would return to play Beth Dutton in a spin-off, she revealed: “I am definitely interested in Beth, and who she is after some things have happened. Who is she in peace? As an actor you’re like, ‘Ooh, let me at that.’ Wouldn’t it be fun to watch Beth go to therapy?”

“Well, we met at his brother’s wedding. I was, a girlfriend of mine, I was in California at the time and there was this wedding in Marfa, Texas. And she said, do you want to go on a road trip? And I was like, yes. And I think her boyfriend was out of town. So I got to be the plus one and I thought I’m gonna go riding because I’m a big horse rider in real life. And I had just been riding that morning and I still had like leather on my hands. I think I was a bit of a hot mess. I thought he was Texan. The wedding was in Texas. He’s from Long Island and he’s the love of my life. And the most beautiful thing that’s ever happened to me is my marriage,” she said.

Taylor Sheridan’s latest spinoff has secured four stars nearing deals to appear in the series, TVLine reports.

The show was previously known as 2024, but now tentatively is titled The Madison, and is “rumored to follow wealthy matriarch Stacy Clyburn and her family as they leave New York City and head to Montana in the wake of her husband and brother-in-law’s tragic deaths in a plane crash.”

Casting for supporting roles is still ongoing, and production is set to begin later in August in Montana, New York and Texas, with a tentative premiere date sometime in 2025 after the premiere of Yellowstone‘s Season 5B on November 10.

According to Taylor, HBO went back and forth with him on giving Yellowstone a series order for a multitude of reasons.

The first issue was Kevin Costner playing John Dutton, as they wanted Robert Redford.

“They said, ‘If you can get us Robert Redford, we’ll greenlight the pilot,’” he recalled. “I drive to Sundance and spend the day with [Redford] and he agrees to play John Dutton. I call the senior vice president in charge of production and say, ‘I got him!’ ‘You got who?’ ‘Robert Redford.’ ‘What?!‘ ‘You said if I got Robert Redford, you’d greenlight the show.’ And he says — and you can’t make this shit up — ‘We meant a Robert Redford type.’”

Beyond that, Taylor also said that HBO was not a fan of Beth Dutton, who is played by Kelly Reilly, and said that women would hate her too.

“‘We think she’s too abrasive. We want to tone her down. Women won’t like her,’” he said that they told him about the character.

Like many women viewers, Taylor knew they were wrong, “because Beth says the quiet part out loud every time. When someone’s rude to you in a restaurant, or cuts you off in the parking lot, Beth says the thing you wish you’d said.”

After HBO completely passed on the show, Taylor got the rights back to the show and took it elsewhere, including TNT and TBS, before Paramount picked it up.

Elsewhere in the interview, Taylor opened up about Kevin leaving the show.

Kelly Reilly is the first star to speak out about the disappointment and drama over half of the cast skipping the 2023 Paleyfest panel for Yellowstone.

The 45-year-old actress, who plays Beth Dutton, on the popular series addressed the situation while marking her return to social media, and replied to a fan who asked about what happened.

Kelly had shared a new pic with Succession star Brian Cox on her Instagram, and that’s where a fan asked about why she was a no-show to the panel, despite her name being on the list sent to press and fans who attended.

“I was filming in the UK at the time,” she shared, adding that she had “let them know in January I wouldn’t be able to attend.”

Kelly went on, saying that she “was sorry to hear my name was still on the list of attendees, as it is unfair to our fans.”
