Brandon Routh is making his Hallmark Channel return this weekend and fans might be curious to know more about his current relationship status.

The 46-year-old A Keller Christmas Vacation actor was previously married to actress Courtney Ford for nearly two decades, but they announced their split back in January 2025 after 17 years of marriage. The former couple share a son who was born in 2012.

Courtney Ford is making some rare comments on her separation from Brandon Routh, nearly 10 months after she filed for divorce.

The 47-year-old Dexter actress filed for divorce from Brandon, 46, back in January after 17 years of marriage.

At the time, the former couple wrote in a joint statement, “To everyone who has loved and supported us, we have some personal news to share. After 21 years together, and 17 years of marriage, we have decided to begin a new journey, and enter this next chapter of life as friends and co-parents. Brandon Routh is speaking out about the new Superman movie!

The 45-year-old actor previously portrayed the DC superhero nearly 20 years ago, in Superman Returns, which debuted in 2006, and once again in The CW’s five-part “Crisis on Infinite Earths” crossover event in late 2019 and early 2020.

While promoting his new movie Ick on Monday (July 21), Brandon shared his thoughts on the 2025 movie and David Corenswet‘s portrayal.

“It was a lot of fun,” he told Variety‘s Marc Malkin. “I really enjoyed it. I think David is fantastic. I cried no less than three times.

“I see this in a different way. I come at it from a different perspective,” Brandon shared. “I really got into it as I’m watching him navigate those tricky Superman moments in the first conversation with Lois and Clark in the apartment. And then all of the family stuff for me really hit. It’s a big movie. There’s a lot in there. I have to go see it again.”

He also shared his thoughts on the DC universe reboot under James Gunn and Peter Safran.

“I really am excited for the potential for the DC Universe,” Brandon dished. “A successful launch with this is just good for everybody who wants more of what DC has to offer. There are a lot of great properties that can be explored.”

The voice cast of the Netflix series features almost all of the actors from the live-action film!

While the majority of the cast is returning for the new series, two actors will seemingly not be involved.

Scott Pilgrim Takes Off debuts on Netflix on November 17.

Netflix and UCP are launching an all-new anime series based on Scott Pilgrim, and the cast from Scott Pilgrim vs. The World is coming along to provide all of their voices!

Bryan Lee O’Malley, the author and artist of the Scott Pilgrim graphic novel series, and BenDavid Grabinski are executive producer, writers and showrunners.

“We’re getting the band back together…we couldn’t ask for a better team for this adventure,” they said in a statement.

The original film’s director, co-writer and producer Edgar Wright will also be an executive producer. Animation house Science SARU will do the animations, with executive producer Eunyoung Choi and director Abel Gongora.

“One of the proudest and most enjoyable achievements of my career was assembling and working with the dynamite cast of Scott Pilgrim. Since the film’s release in 2010 we’ve done Q&A’s, remembrances and charity read throughs, but there was never the occasion to reunite the whole gang on an actual project. Until now,” Edgar Wright said.

More than a dozen stars are set to return according to Netflix, however there are some names who do not appear on the list as well.

Brandon Routh has landed the lead role in the animated Netflix series Magic: The Gathering.

THR reports, “the anime series unites familiar and well-loved Planeswalkers for Magic fans and introduces new characters to tell a new story.”

In a statement, Brandon said, “I love this world and I’m very excited to be part of this animated series.” He will play “Gideon, an unfalteringly heroic Planeswalker in the Magic: The Gathering multiverse.”

So far, there is no release date for the highly anticipated series. However, it is projected to land on the streaming service sometime in late 2022. Stay tuned as we learn more! The project has been greenlit since 2019, so it’s been a long time coming!

The 39-year-old DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow actor donned the suit again for the network’s Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover event.

Brandon also starred in 2006′s Superman Returns.

In the five-hour crossover, Brandon Routh will play both his Legends character Ray Palmer/the Atom and Clark Kent. Smallville‘s Tom Welling and Arrowverse‘s Taylor Hoechlin will also be a part of the crossover.

Brandon Routh and Courtney Ford, who are married in real life, have announced that they will be exiting their series DC’s Legends of Tomorrow during the upcoming fifth season.

While Brandon, who plays Ray Palmer/Atom, has been a series regular from the beginning of the show, Courtney joined in season three as Nora Darhk and was promoted to regular in season four.

Just like in real life, Brandon and Courtney are a couple on the show.

“Brandon and Courtney have been invaluable members of the Legends family,” series executive producers Phil Klemmer, Grianne Godfree and Keto Shimizu said in a statement to Deadline. “They have always brought a level passion and collaboration to their characters and to the show — both on and off the screen – that we deeply admire and for which we are eternally grateful.”

The reason for the departure is said to be a creative one as their characters’ storylines will be wrapped.

“I’m so grateful to have had the opportunity to bring the big-hearted and humorous Ray Palmer to life for our fans over the last 5 years, but unfortunately, his storyline is pointed in another direction,” Brandon said in a statement. ” I’m saddened to see Ray’s journey end for now but wish my Legends family well.”

Courtney added, “Nora Darhk is very close to my heart. If it were my choice, I’d play her for years to come. But I understand that stories run their course, and I’m grateful for the time I did have bringing Nora to life on Legends of Tomorrow.”

There will be two Supermans in Arrowverse’s upcoming crossover event, Crisis on Infinite Earths, Deadline is reporting.

Tyler Hoechlin, who’s played the character in the DC universe shows, will return, and Brandon Routh will suit up as the character, as well.

If you don’t know, Brandon played the iconic superhero in the 2006 film, Superman Returns.

Brandon will be playing a dual part as Superman and his regular character on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Ray Palmer aka The Atom.

Tyler and Brandon are expected to play Superman in different time frames in the crossover.
