Hallmark Renews 'Mistletoe Murders' for Season 3: Watch Sarah Drew & Peter Mooney Announce News in Cute Video!

Mistletoe Murders is coming back to Hallmark Channel for a third season!

Sarah Drew and Peter Mooney announced the news in a cute new video released on Instagram, revealing that season three will air on Hallmark during the 2026 Countdown to Christmas programming block.

“I could not be more thrilled to be returning to Fletcher’s Grove for season 3 of Mistletoe Murders,” Sarah said in a statement to People. “As I’ve said in numerous interviews, this is my favorite job I’ve ever had. I can’t wait to tell more stories about Emily and Sam. I can’t wait to resolve that giant cliffhanger, and I can’t wait to be back on set with my beloved community in Toronto.”

Peter added, “So excited about our season 3 renewal! This is one of those rare shows for us all. The cast is incredible, the crew is incredible. We have so much fun making it.”

The news comes just one day before Sarah‘s new Hallmark Channel movie airs on the network. You can watch The Stars Between Us on Saturday night (February 21).

Hallmark's 'Mistletoe Murders' Is Back for Season 2 After That Cliffhanger Ending for Season 1!

Sarah Drew and Peter Mooney will be back on Hallmark Channel TONIGHT (November 7) for the second season of their holiday mystery series Mistletoe Murders, which returns after the cliffhanger ending for the first season.

The first season premiered one year ago on the streaming service Hallmark+ and it aired over the past three weeks on Hallmark Channel. Now, the second season will debut on the network before being added to the streaming service one day later.

At the end of the first season, holiday store owner Emily Lane (Drew) and detective Sam Wilner (Mooney) expressed their feelings for one another and shared a passionate kiss, but moments later Sam gets a phone call and learns that Emily had been lying to him about her identity. The season ends with him asking, “Who are you really?” So, what can we expect in season two?

Hallmark Channel‘s diehard fans are without a doubt already caught up on season one of Mistletoe Murders after the show’s launch last year on streaming service Hallmark+, but now everyone will have a chance to watch the show on the linear network!

Sarah Drew and Peter Mooney‘s mystery series is now airing on Hallmark Channel for the first time and season two will debut just one week after the first season finishes airing.

While attending the Countdown to Christmas launch event on Wednesday (October 15) in Nashville, Sarah and Peter teased what fans can expect from the show, including the second season episodes that no one has seen yet!

'Mistletoe Murders' Renewed By Hallmark+, Joins 3 Other Recent Renewals By Hallmark Media!

Mistletoe Murders is getting a second season at Hallmark+!

The series follows Christmas shop owner Emily Lane (Sarah Drew), as well as detective Sam Wilner (Peter Mooney).

“We had searched for the right series to blend Christmas with mysteries — two genres our viewers love — and Mistletoe Murders cracked that case to perfection. The enthusiastic audience reaction made the decision to renew the series an easy one,” Samantha DiPippo, Senior Vice President, Programming, Hallmark Media, told Deadline. “After the jaw-dropping season finale that left fans asking, Who is Emily Lane?, we look forward to another riveting holiday in Fletcher’s Grove filled with mystery, romance and of course, Christmas.”

It’s expected that season 2 would have a 2025 holiday premiere date, and will film later this year.
