'Suffs' Creator Shaina Taub Kicks Off Tony Awards 2024 with a Major Win!

It’s already a big night for the original musical Suffs!

Writer, composer, and star Shaina Taub kicked off the night with a big win at the 2024 Tony Awards on Sunday (June 16) at the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York City.

Shaina took home the award for Best Book of a Musical for writing the script of the new show, which follows Alice Paul and the American women’s suffrage movement. She’s also nominated for Best Original Score!

Also pictured is Nikki M. James, who is nominated for Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Musical, Leigh Silverman, who is nominated for Best Direction of a Musical, as well as producers Rachel Sussman and Jill Furman, who are up for Best Musical.

Tony Award Frontrunners Rachel McAdams & Sarah Paulson Show Support at MTC Spring Gala Amid Broadway Runs

Rachel McAdams and Sarah Paulson showed support for the theater community during their night off from Broadway.

The actresses, who are Tony Award frontrunners this year, attended the 2024 Manhattan Theatre Club Spring Gala on Monday night (May 20) in New York City.

Rachel is currently starring in the play Mary Jane and Sarah is starring in the play Appropriate. They are both nominated for Best Actress in a Play and are considered the two frontrunners for the win.

Also in attendance at the gala were Sarah‘s co-star Corey Stoll, Days of Wine and Roses co-stars Kelli O’Hara and Brian d’Arcy James, The Who’s Tommy‘s Ali Louis Bourzgui, Cabaret‘s Bebe Neuwirth, Hell’s Kitchen‘s Kecia Lewis, SuffsNikki M. James, and The Notebook actors Joy Woods, Jordan Tyson, and John Cardoza.

Look Inside the Tony Nominees Luncheon with Rachel McAdams, Sarah Paulson, & More!

The 2024 Tony Awards ceremony is one month away and the nominees gathered at a luncheon to celebrate their accomplishments!

Rachel McAdams and Sarah Paulson were among the stars who stepped out for the event on Friday afternoon (May 10) at the Rainbow Room in New York City.

The actresses, who are both nominated for Best Actress in a Play, matched in white suits.

Some of the other nominees in attendance included Sarah‘s Appropriate co-star Corey Stoll, Merrily We Roll Along‘s Jonathan Groff and Lindsay Mendez, Lempicka‘s Eden Espinosa and Amber Iman, Mother Play‘s Celia Keenan-Bolger, Hell’s Kitchen‘s Shoshana Bean, The OutsidersBrody Grant, Cabaret‘s Eddie Redmayne and Gayle Rankin, Stereophonic‘s Sarah Pidgeon, Days of Wine and RosesKelli O’Hara, and SuffsShaina Taub and Nikki M. James.

Many more stars were there as well!

Shoshana and Eden were both understudies for Idina Menzel in Wicked and then went on to play Elphaba full-time. They had a special reunion at the party!

Look Inside as Broadway's Biggest Stars Celebrate Tony Awards at Nominees Event, with Rachel McAdams, Eddie Redmayne, Alicia Keys, & More!

All of Broadway’s biggest stars were in attendance at the 2024 Tony Awards Meet the Nominees Press Event to kick off the theatre awards season!

Major Hollywood celebs like Rachel McAdams, Eddie Redmayne, Gayle Rankin, Alicia Keys, Daniel Radcliffe, and more were at the event on Thursday afternoon (May 2) at Sofitel New York in New York City.

Just days earlier, all of these stars earned Tony nominations for their work in the 2023-2024 Broadway season.

The 77th Annual Tony Awards will air live on CBS on Sunday, June 16 and it’s taking place at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts for the first time.

'Suffs' Broadway Musical Gets Star-Studded Crowd on Opening Night Led by Hillary Clinton, Lin-Manuel Miranda, & More

The Broadway musical Suffs just officially opened and a star-studded crowd attended to check out Hillary Clinton and Malala Yousafzai‘s producing debut!

Shaina Taub, who wrote the show and stars as suffragist Alice Paul, walked the red carpet alongside her fellow producers and celebs like Lin-Manuel Miranda on Thursday (April 18) at the Music Box Theatre in New York City.

More celebs in attendance included Anna Wintour, Sara Bareilles, Darren Criss, Melissa McCarthy, Ben Platt and Noah Galvin, Rachel Brosnahan and Jason Ralph, and many more.

Cast members including Tony winner Nikki M. James and Tony nominee Jenn Colella were also on the red carpet.

Featuring an all-female cast, Suffs takes place in the early 1900s as the women’s movement was heating up in America, anchored by the suffragists — “Suffs,” as they call themselves — and their relentless pursuit of the right to vote.

Jim Parsons & Ben Aldridge Suit Up for 'Spoiler Alert' Premiere in NYC

The stars of Spoiler Alert are stepping out for the premiere of their new movie.

Jim Parsons and Ben Aldridge posed together on the red carpet at the premiere of their new movie on Tuesday (November 29) at the Jack H. Skirball Center for the Performing Arts in New York City.

Fellow cast members Sally Field, Bill Irwin, Jeffery Self, and Nikki M. James also hit the red carpet along with director Michael Showalter.

Jim‘s husband Todd Spiewak also attended the premiere along with Michael Ausiello, who wrote the memoir Spoiler Alert: The Hero Dies, which the movie is based on.

Broadway Stars Nikki M. James & Laura Osnes Attend Tony Awards 2018!

Nikki M. James and Laura Osnes hit the red carpet at the 2018 Tony Awards held at Radio City Music Hall on Sunday (June 10) in New York City.

Both of the actresses are big Broadway stars who have plenty of Tony history!

Nikki won an award back in 2011 for The Book of Mormon and Laura was nominated in both 2012 and 2013 for her work in Bonnie and Clyde and Cinderella.

Also stepping out for the event were former nominees Brandon Victor Dixon and Christopher Jackson. They’ve both starred in Hamilton on Broadway!

FYI: Nikki is wearing a Loulette Bride gown.
