I Can Only Imagine 2 is a sequel to the 2018 record-breaking-hit I Can Only Imagine, which brought in over $83 million at the box office.

Here is the official synopsis for the new film: “After the breakout success of the song ‘I Can Only Imagine,’ MercyMe’s Bart Millard (John Michael Finley) is living the dream—sold-out arenas, a devoted fan base, and a thriving career. But behind the spotlight, Bart’s past threatens the family he’s built, especially the fragile bond with his son, Sam (Sammy Dell).”

“When hopeful newcomer Tim Timmons (Milo Ventimiglia, This Is Us) joins the band for their biggest tour yet, he unknowingly brings a renewed gratitude to Bart’s life through their unlikely friendship. Bart soon discovers that Tim carries hardships—and secrets—of his own, forcing him to face his past and repair his relationships with Sam and his wife, Shannon (Sophie Skelton), before fame costs him what matters most. I Can Only Imagine 2 was directed by Andrew Erwin and Brent McCorkle, Brent also wrote the script.

The 2024 CMA Country Christmas special is here!

The Country Music Association is airing its annual hour-long holiday TV special on Tuesday, December 3 at on ABC at 8 p.m. ET.

The special was filmed in Nashville, Tenn., featuring a bunch of performers across genres from gospel to country pop.

The special will first air on ABC then will be available to stream the next day on Hulu or Disney+.

For the second year in a row, the special will be hosted by country stars Amy Grant and Trisha Yearwood.

The two are set to perform Amy‘s “Sing Your Praise to the Lord” and Tom Stacks‘ “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town” together.

They will also have solo performances, with Amy singing “Tennessee Christmas” and Trisha performing a “fun and festive Christmas medley,” via the Country Music Association.

Amy Grant is back with new music on September 13th!

The 63-year-old multi-platinum-selling singer and her husband Vince Gill have a new Christmas album, When I Think Of Christmas, that will contain remastered versions of nine of the couple’s Yuletide favorites, plus two new recordings. The album releases September 13th but you can pre-order here!

“Christmas Music is a portal to wonder and awe, to nostalgia and ‘remember when,’ to hope and how-we-wish-it-could-be,” says Amy. “And because we return to the same playlists year after year, those songs have become the backdrop for our collective memories of gathering, of family, of gift giving, of celebration and solitude. Amy and Vince play one of the most successful residencies in the history of Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium (most famous former home of the Grand Ole Opry). “Christmas at the Ryman” has presented over 100 shows in front of nearly a quarter-million people. This year’s series will run from November 29 through December 21. Tickets are now on sale.

Amy Grant is releasing new music after a decade-long break!

The 62-year-old multi-platinum, six-time Grammy-winner will drop her new single “Trees We’ll Never See” on Friday, March 24th, which you can pre-save here. The song was written by Marshall Altman, who produced her critically-acclaimed album, How Mercy Looks From Here.

“So much creativity has been put on hold in my life, for all kinds of reasons,” Amy shared. “Last summer I was asked to sing on a new Cory Asbury song yet to be released. This might be one of the best songs I have heard in a long time. I was so glad they waited for me to heal up and get back to the studio. Inspired by Cory’s beautiful song, Marshall Altman and I started talking about songs that we’ve written recently that affected us. I played him one of mine. He played me one of his. His song was ‘Trees We’ll Never See‘. I loved it immediately and asked him if I could record it, and within two weeks, both songs were mixed & mastered!”

After taking time to heal from her bike accident last summer, Amy joined Michael W. Smith for a Christmas tour, followed by her annual Christmas stint at the Ryman residency with husband Vince Gill. Amy’s year culminated in receiving a prestigious Kennedy Center Honor along with U2, George Clooney, Gladys Knight and Tania Leon.

Amy Grant is opening up about how she’s doing six months after her bike accident.

The 62-year-old “Baby, Baby” singer, who was recently honored at the Kennedy Center Honors, spoke to E! News about the effects of the accident, and revealed that she still has some memory loss.

During her interview with the outlet, Amy said that her recovery process is still ongoing and she does still forget lyrics to her songs.

“I don’t remember the beginning of it,” Amy shared about the accident. “My memory is still coming back, and the stamina, they say 12-18 months after an injury like that.”

She went on, “Six months in, so I feel really good! I anticipate just getting better. So far, right now, I use a teleprompter [for song lyrics]. There’s one tonight. I’m so glad. I used a teleprompter on the Christmas Tour.”

“Honestly, I can’t remember what I don’t remember,” Amy added about her lapses in memory. “I was at dinner the other night with a high school friend. We used to spend the night at each other’s houses. I said, ‘I’m embarrassed to ask you, are you and your husband still together?’ She said that Douglas died seven years ago, and it was like I had just heard it for the first time!”

Amy says that her “brain is all about reconnecting all those things, but [the memory loss has] been a bit of a blessing. Like, I saw someone at the airport, and they said, ‘Hey it’s good to see you!’ I said, ‘Call me crazy. You’re going to have to tell me your name!’ It was someone I knew. Everyone would like this excuse! Everyone should do this. It makes life easier to just say the truth of what is.”

This past July, Amy had hit a pothole with her bike, which caused her to be thrown off the vehicle. She was hospitalized for a concussion, and had to postpone several concerts during her recovery.

She only recently returned to the stage in November.

It’s that time of the year again and the 2022 Kennedy Center Honors special will be airing tonight on CBS!

The annual show was filmed on the Kennedy Center Opera House stage on December 4.

The Honors recipients are recognized for their contributions to American culture through the performing arts – whether in music, dance, theater, opera, motion pictures or television – and are confirmed by the Executive Committee of the Center’s Board of Trustees. The primary criterion in the selection process is excellence. Amy Grant was one of several stars honored at the 45th Annual Kennedy Center Honors ceremony earlier this month.

The event took place on December 4 in Washington, DC. However, it will air on CBS in a few days and feature performances and tributes from the likes of Brandi Carlile, Maren Morris, Natalie Hemby and Amanda Shires (aka The Highwaywomen) and Sheryl Crow.

Amy opened up about the experience and shared what it was like to be an honoree.

“I felt simultaneously like I was in this cone of total aloneness, just of being observed, and also completely surrounded by love. It was so amazing. And I was like ‘Everybody should have this feeling. Everybody.’ It was really beautiful. Every moment was so gratifying and beautiful,” she said of the experience.

George Clooney and wife Amal step out for the 45th Kennedy Center Honors ceremony held at The Kennedy Center on Sunday night (December 4) in Washington, DC.

The 61-year-old actor is one of five honorees for the event, alongside musicians Amy Grant, Gladys Knight, U2 and American composer, conductor and educator Tania León.

The Honors recipients are recognized for their contributions to American culture through the performing arts—whether in music, dance, theater, opera, motion pictures, or television.

Amy was joined by her husband, singer Vince Gill, Bono‘s wife, Ali Hewson, Ariana DeBose, Isla Fisher, Sacha Baron Cohen, Sheryl Crow, Brandi Carlile, Norah O’Donnell, Richard Kind, Matt Damon and Luciana Barroso also stepped out to show their support for everyone.

“To be mentioned in the same breath with the rest of these incredible artists is an honor. This is a genuinely exciting surprise for the whole Clooney family,” George said in a statement about the honor.

The televised ceremony will take place on Wednesday, December 28 at 8 p.m. on CBS, and will be available to stream live and on demand on Paramount+.

Amy Grant has made the difficult decision to postpone the rest of her tour.

The 61-year-old singer was involved in a bike accident late last month and after leaving the hospital a few weeks ago, has decided to postpone the rest of her upcoming concert dates in order to heal from her injuries.

Amy‘s manager, Jennifer Cooke, shared the news with fans on Amy’s Instagram page, saying that her previously scheduled tour dates in September and October would be postponed “due to needing more time to recover from injuries and a concussion sustained in a bicycling accident that occurred in Nashville on July 27.”

“Amy is getting stronger every day. Just as she did after her heart surgery, we are amazed at how fast she heals,” Jennifer continued. “However, although she is doing much better, we have made the difficult decision to postpone her fall tour so she can concentrate on her recovery and rebuild her stamina. She wants to be able to give 100% when she tours and, unfortunately, we do not think that will be the case by the time rehearsals would start for the fall dates.”

However, it’s still looking good that Amy will be playing her Christmas tour with Michael W. Smith and her annual Christmas At The Ryman residency with her husband, Vince Gill.

“Amy would like to extend her gratitude for all the many good wishes and prayers offered since the accident. She feels the impact of the collective good will extended her way. Thank you,” Jennifer concluded.

Along with a photo from her tour, the post explained that due to doctor’s orders, Amy will have to postpone several of her upcoming Tennessee shows, which were scheduled for Aug. 18, 19 and 20.

“Amy Grant was in an accident after hitting a pothole while riding her bicycle with a friend (note: she was wearing a helmet),” the statement read. “Following a brief hospitalization where she was treated for her injuries, doctors have ordered additional recovery time at home for Amy, where she is now resting comfortably.”

While she has had to postpone the above tour dates, Amy‘s team does add that the concerts have been rescheduled for April and June 2023.

“There are no other changes to her touring schedule at this time,” it adds.

If you missed it, one of Amy‘s songs was used as the inspiration for a recent Hallmark movie.

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts announced Thursday George Clooney, U2, singers Gladys Knight and Amy Grant and composer Tania León will be honored this year for their lifetime contributions to American culture.

The annual ceremony is slated to happen on December 4 and will be broadcast at a later date on CBS and Paramount+.

George Clooney and Julia Roberts are reuniting on screen for a new romantic comedy titled Ticket to Paradise.

Amy Grant is doing good following open heart surgery.

The 59-year-old singer underwent surgery today (June 3) to fix a heart condition that she’s had since birth.

“She had open heart surgery to correct a condition from birth the doctors discovered during a heart check up called PAPVR,” Amy‘s rep shared in a statement regarding the singer’s health. “Thankfully the doctor said it could not have gone better. We’re praying for a full and easy recovery over the next few days, weeks, and months to come.”

Her condition, called partial anomalous pulmonary venous return, was discovered by physicians during a routine checkup earlier this year.

PAPVR causes one or more of the pulmonary veins carrying blood from the lungs to the heart to flow into other blood vessels or into the heart’s right atrium, instead of entering the heart’s left atrium.

Amy has been married to country singer Vince Gill for 20 years.

Tori Kelly has teamed up with Amy Grant for a new rendition of Amy’s song “Baby Baby,” and JustJared.com is exclusively revealing the video!

The 23-year-old singer joined Amy for a re-release of the ’90s hit in honor of its 25th anniversary.

The song earned Amy three Grammy nominations in 1992 and went to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. She announced the collaboration earlier in the month, writing on Twitter, “So excited to finally announce this. Amazed by @ToriKelly!”
