The Outlander prequel series Outlander: Blood of My Blood is getting rave reviews and is set to debut today on Starz!

The prequel series to the hit Starz show will explore the lives and relationship of Jamie’s parents, and today, it was confirmed that the show will also explore the origin of Claire’s parents, too! The 10 episode series was filmed in Scotland, and was just renewed for a second season as well!

The Outlander stars stepped out for the “STARZ: Outlander: A Timeless Look Back at the Iconic Series and a First Look at the Final Season” panel at San Diego Convention Center.

Also in attendance for a panel right after was the cast of Outlander: Blood of my Blood – Harriet Slater, Seamus McLean Ross, Hermione Corfield, Jamie Roy, Rory Alexander and Sam Retford, as well as Raya Yarbrough, who sang “The Skye Boat Song” for Outlander‘s theme for the first six seasons, performed her version live in between the panels.

At the panels, a new teaser for Outlander‘s upcoming eighth and final season was shared, and the release time frame was revealed. There was also an exciting update on Outlander: Blood of my Blood.

Here’s the synopsis: The series explores the lives and relationships of two couples as they fight against all odds to be together: the parents of Outlander’s Claire Randall — Julia Moriston (Hermione Corfield) and Henry Beauchamp (Jeremy Irvine); and those of Outlander’s Jamie Fraser — Ellen MacKenzie (Harriet Slater) and Brian Fraser (Jamie Roy).

Great news for Outlander universe fans! Outlander: Blood of my Blood has already been renewed for a second season, ahead of season one’s debut later this summer.

The 10 episode first season will debut on Starz on August 8, 2025.

Season 2 will kick off filming today in Scotland.
