The 2026 Independent Spirit Awards are happening now!

The awards show celebrates films budgeted at less than $30 million to produce and must be considered “independent,” as well as television categories.

The show is taking place live the Hollywood Palladium on Sunday (February 15) in Los Angeles.

This year, Netflix has by far the most nominations with 18 total. A24 is next, with 10 nominations total. There are familiar names on the list as well, with actors from The Pitt, Alien: Earth, and more being recognized.

Dust Bunny is hitting theaters this weekend.

Here’s the synopsis: “In visionary creator Bryan Fuller’s fantastical and wickedly inventive feature directorial debut Dust Bunny, a 10-year-old girl joins forces with her hit man neighbor to confront each other’s monsters. Ten-year-old Aurora has a mysterious neighbor (Mads Mikkelsen) who kills real-life monsters. He’s a hit man for hire. So, when Aurora needs help killing the monster she believes ate her entire family, she procures his services. Suspecting that her parents may have fallen victim to assassins gunning for him, Aurora’s neighbor guiltily takes the job. Now, to protect her, he’ll need to battle an onslaught of assassins ― and accept that some monsters are real.”

The cast also includes Sigourney Weaver, David Dastmalchian, and Sophie Sloan.

Kristin Chenoweth is all smiles while speaking on stage during PaleyLive LA’s An Evening with Kristin Chenoweth: In Conversation on Wednesday (February 27) at the Paley Center for Media in Beverly Hills, Calif.

The Emmy and Tony-winning entertainer announced during the event that she finished work on her upcoming album earlier that day!

Kristin will be paying tribute to some of her female musical idols on the album, including Carole King, Judy Garland, Eva Cassidy, and Linda Ronstadt. She worked with producer Steve Tyrell on the album, and he was sitting in the front row during the panel.

The conversation was moderated by Pushing Daisies and American Gods creator Bryan Fuller, who helped Kristin and the audience look back on her incredible career in television and theater.

Kristin was joined on the red carpet by her boyfriend, musician Josh Bryant.

According to Deadline, The Wolverine actress Tao Okamoto has been cast as the “dark and mysterious” Lady Murasaki, a woman who has “an alluring and classical beauty with a dark secret.”
