Jessalyn Gilsig Replaces Shiri Appleby in Disney+ Series 'Big Shot'

Jessalyn Gilsig has landed the lead role in the upcoming Disney+ series Big Shot, replacing Shiri Appleby.

Shiri was cast opposite John Stamos a few months ago, but the role has been retooled and needed to be recast.

Big Shot follows “a temperamental college basketball coach (Stamos) who gets fired from his job and must take a teaching and coaching job at an elite all-girls private high school.”

Jessalyn will play “Holly, the school’s good-humored and down-to-earth assistant basketball coach.” Deadline reports that the role has “evolved to be more of a contemporary to Stamos’ Marvin — and potential love interest for him down the road — leading to the recasting.”
