Luke Grimes‘ new television show, which is a Yellowstone spinoff from Taylor Sheridan, has a confirmed cast list!

The series is titled Marshals! It was originally titled Y: Marshals, but underwent a slight title change a few weeks ago. In addition to returning characters from the Yellowstone universe, there will also be some new stars joining the cast as well. However, fans are now suspecting that a major character will be killed off!

Here’s the logline for the series: With the Yellowstone Ranch behind him, Dutton joins an elite unit of U.S. Marshals, combining his skills as a cowboy and Navy SEAL to bring range justice to Montana, where he and his teammates must balance family, duty and the high psychological cost that comes with serving as the last line of defense in the region’s war on violence.

The new series will premiere on CBS on Sunday, March 1 at 8pm and will stream exclusively on Paramount+ as well.

The first trailer for the CBS Yellowstone spinoff TV show, Y: Marshals, has debuted!

The series stars Luke Grimes reprising his role as Kayce Dutton. With the Yellowstone Ranch behind him, Dutton joins an elite unit of U.S. Marshals, combining his skills as a cowboy and Navy SEAL to bring range justice to Montana. Kayce and his teammates – Pete Calvin (Logan Marshall-Green), Belle Skinner (Arielle Kebbel), Andrea Cruz (Ash Santos) and Miles Kittle (Tatanka Means) – must balance the high psychological cost of serving as the last line of defense in the region’s war on violence with their duty to their families, which for Kayce includes his son Tate (Brecken Merrill) and his confidantes Thomas Rainwater (Gil Birmingham) and Mo (Mo Brings Plenty) from the Broken Rock reservation.

The trailer, which can be seen above, has Luke saying, “I fought every day to get out from under the weight of the Yellowstone. I’ve lost my teammates, my parents, even my brothers. I know sometimes good men have to do bad things. But I’m trying to find a new beginning.”

The series is set to debut in a couple of months on CBS. Look out for the premiere on March 1, 2026.

“You will see some familiar faces,” he told TooFab. “I’m excited to do it. It’s going to be year eight for me, playing the same character, which is, who would have thought that I would ever play a character for eight years? But, he’s really close to my heart. He feels like a family member, and it would be weird to fully let him go anyway, so I’m glad we get to reconnect.”

The fan-favorite series Yellowstone wrapped its five-season run in December 2024 and multiple sequel series have been ordered with more in development.

Michelle Pfeiffer will star in the spinoff series The Madison, about the McIntosh family who live in the Madison River valley of central Montana.

Spencer Hudnut, who previously wrote for SEAL Team and The Blacklist: Redemption, will act as the showrunner for the new series with Taylor Sheridan returning as executive producer.

There will be 13 episodes in the first season of Y: Marshals and the show is set to begin shooting in summer 2025 with plans to launch in 2026 as a mid-season premiere.
