Shemar Moore and Vivica A. Fox are returning to the long-running CBS soap opera The Young and the Restless.
The network is keeping most of the details secret, but they will reprise their characters Malcolm Winters and Dr. Stephanie Simmons, respectively, for a multi-episode arc, per TVLine.

S.W.A.T. was a long-running series on CBS and its star Shemar Moore is returning for the spin-off series S.W.A.T. Exiles, which just wrapped filming despite not having a network attached yet.
Sony Pictures Television produced season one of the upcoming show without selling it to a network first and now the studio will shop it to a buyer.
Deadline reports that a Los Angeles screening at the Sony lot is scheduled for Wednesday (February 11) and another one for New York is in the works. A London event for February 26 is already set up for international buyers.
In S.W.A.T. Exiles, after a high-profile mission goes sideways, Hondo (Moore) is pulled out of forced retirement to lead a last-chance experimental SWAT unit made up of untested, unpredictable young recruits. The show will feature a new cast alongside him, but two returning actors are confirmed for guest spots.

CBS canceled S.W.A.T. earlier this year, and producers quickly jumped at the chance to create a spinoff show.
That series, S.W.A.T. Exiles, was announced after CBS made their original decision. At the time, it was announced that Shemar Moore would be returning in the role of Sargent Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson.
When fans learned of the new series, it was unclear if any of the original cast would join Shemar in the show. There has been confirmation that the show’s behind-the-scenes production team will be working on the show. It’s unclear if it already has begun filming, but there’s now word about the pilot episode.

S.W.A.T. came to an end on CBS after eight seasons and it was recently announced that a spin-off is in production through Sony Pictures Television. While Daniel Harrison (Shemar Moore) will be leading the spin-off series, Jay will not be returning as David Kay.

Over the weekend, it was revealed that Sony Pictures Television revived CBS’ canceled TV show, S.W.A.T., into a spinoff series with Shemar Moore set to return. The show doesn’t currently have a network or streamer attached at this time.
Fans were a little upset that the show only has Shemar attached right now, and wondered why the show couldn’t just continue on with a ninth season somewhere else.
Now, we’ve learned a little more about if CBS knew they were developing the spinoff and if more character from the S.W.A.T. universe will be involved.
