Changes are coming to Samuel L Jackson‘s upcoming new Tulsa King spinoff series!

The actor is set to star in and executive produce the television show, previously titled NOLA King, and was to be set in New Orleans.

Now, it has been revealed that the upcoming series will be set in a new city, with a name change as well.

According to THR, the show is being from New Orleans to Frisco, Texas, and it will now be titled Frisco King.

It will still center on Samuel‘s Russell Lee Washington Jr, who was introduced in Tulsa King season three.

In addition, EP Taylor Sheridan has also been tapped to write all eight episodes of the new series.

“We are honored to have Taylor Sheridan write the first season of Frisco King and bring to life Samuel L. Jackson’s iconic character,” Matt Thunell, president of Paramount Television Studios, shared in a statement. “Having him pen all episodes of the season with his singular voice will be a treat for fans of Tulsa King and audiences around the world.”

Filming on the project is set to begin in late March in Fort Worth, Texas.

“Taylor Sheridan continues to build worlds that attract some of the most iconic talent working today, and Frisco King is no exception,” Jane Wiseman, head of originals at Paramount+, said. “Having Samuel L. Jackson step into this universe is a testament to the scale and ambition of the storytelling Taylor is crafting. We’re thrilled to expand this storyline with such a powerhouse creative team and cast on Paramount+.”

Paramount+ is sharing a first-look at Taylor Sheridan‘s new series.

Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell lead the new series The Madison, which is set to premiere on the streaming service in March.

According to streamer, The Madison is “a profound love story channeled through a deeply personal family drama about resilience and transformation.”

On Friday (December 5), Deadline confirmed that Paramount+ has renewed the Taylor Sheridan hit oil drama series for a third season.

The series, which is currently airing its second season, stars Billy Bob Thornton, Demi Moore, Ali Larter, Andy Garcia, and Sam Elliott.

Taylor Sheridan is involved in the live-action adaptation of Call of Duty!

The 55-year-old Yellowstone co-creator, along with Friday Night Lights developer Peter Berg, will co-write the script for the highly anticipated adaptation of the popular video game series.

The plot details for the Call of Duty movie haven’t been released yet.

Puck News is reporting that, beginning in March, he’ll have an 8 film deal with NBC. His TV commitments with Paramount will continue through until 2028. At that point, it looks he would move over to NBC streamers/stations, and he will begin making content for Peacock and NBC. The TV shows that he has made for Paramount will still seemingly be on Paramount, however.

The project sees the reunion of Brandon and Taylor after 1923, the Paramount+ Western drama from the Yellowstone universe. Cinematographer Ben Richardson will make his feature directorial debut on F.A.S.T. after working on 1923 as well.

Taylor is writing the script prior to his current overall deal with Paramount. It is set to be released in theaters on April 23, 2027.

There’s big news about the Yellowstone spinoff series that’s happening at Paramount!

If you don’t know, the OG series wrapped up its run in late 2024, but it was quickly confirmed that a Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler spinoff series – starring Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser – was happening. This spinoff is different from the Luke Grimes spinoff that’s also happening.

The Road is coming to a TV near you this fall!

CBS is launching a new singing competition series for Fall 2025, from executive producers Blake Shelton and Yellowstone‘s Taylor Sheridan.

The docu-follow format trails a headlining superstar on their journey to discover the next big artist. Singers will join the headliner on tour, performing as opening acts in venues across the country. They will compete to win over local fanbases to secure a spot in the next city and remain on the tour.

1923 is coming to an end.

The second season of the Yellowstone prequel series will end with a two-hour finale event, which is double its usual running time, on Sunday (April 6) on Paramount+, THR confirms.

The Season 2 finale is called “A Dream and A Memory,” following the killing spree in the previous episode, “The Mountain Teeth of Monsters.” Seven characters were left dead in the episode.

Here’s the logline for the Season 2 finale: “Jacob [Harrison Ford] and his crew eagerly await Spencer’s [Brandon Sklenar] return at the train station. Teonna [Amina Nieves] has a fateful run in. Alexandra [Julia Schlaepfer] braves the cold.”

Brandon also teased how 1923 would end.

“It was one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever read in my life, truly,” he previously told The Hollywood Reporter of the finale.

There are still no updates about whether the show will continue on for a third season.

Landman is returning for a second season at Paramount+!

On the profound impact of losing her father in a car accident when she was just nine years old:

“When my father passed away, we all went straight into survival mode. We dropped all those little pleasures of life that you do in a day that compel you to calm down. I remember my mom used to wear red lipstick, and she used to walk around in little tight shorts and tight jeans, and she always looked pretty and was always flirting with my dad, and the moment he passed away, she wouldn’t get out of bed for more than a couple of years.”

On moving to the Dominican Republic after her father’s passing and the difficult experience of facing bullying from other kids:

“You can’t speak English; you have to speak only Spanish. You can’t code-switch. And then you get bullied because kids don’t understand you. And we weren’t little victims. We pushed back, but then they pushed harder, because they all understood each other.”

On how growing up with ADHD and dyslexia, left her feeling sad and isolated, as she struggled to fit in:

“I was always off. When you have a child that has ADHD and is dyslexic and has a lot of energy and doesn’t sit still and is unable to listen, you think that it’s on purpose. I just remember asking myself, ‘Why don’t I fit in? Why do I do this?’ It would make me really sad, and it would make me feel really isolated.”

On how she finds peace in creating art:

“I learned in a very innocent, unconscious way when I was very young that I need to live in art, because I find peace. I can rest when I’m creating.”

On how at first, she didn’t believe she was cut out for her role in Taylor Sheridan’s Lioness, ultimately turning it down before contacting him a year later:

“I didn’t feel that I was cut out for it. I was convinced that I was going to fail…he responded immediately, and he was like, ‘We’re f**king waiting on you.’”

The network will launch the show as part of its Fall 2025 schedule, Deadline reports.

For a long time, it was said that Yellowstone would be ending with the upcoming final episodes, airing this November.

Last month, a report emerged suggesting that the show could actually be renewed with stars Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser, who portray Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler on the series, looking to take over as the show’s leads.

She added. “Nothing is set in stone. But if Taylor [Sheridan, creator] wants to write it, I would want to do it. That’s it. Because he’s the one that’s written every single line I’ve ever said. The 61-year-old actress was just announced to have joined the cast of the upcoming Paramount+ series Landman, which comes from Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace.

Landman is based on the 11-part podcast Boomtown, which was hosted by Christian, and is “set in the proverbial boomtowns of West Texas.”

The show is described as a “modern-day tale of fortune seeking in the world oil rigs,” and is “an upstairs/downstairs story of roughnecks and wildcat billionaires fueling a boom so big, it’s reshaping our climate, our economy and our geopolitics.”

Demi joins as a series regular, portraying Cami, wife to one of the most powerful oil men in Texas and friend of Tommy Norris, who will be played by Billy Bob Thornton.

“Demi Moore is an iconic and extraordinary talent,” Chris McCarthy, President and CEO, Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios, said in a statement. “We are thrilled to have her join Billy Bob Thornton and the star-studded cast of Landman, our next epic series from Taylor Sheridan.”

The upcoming series is currently filming in and around Fort Worth, Texas.

There seems to be a bit of a legal issue between Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan and one of the stars of the show, Cole Hauser.

The series’ creator’s Bosque Ranch is suing the 48-year-old actor’s Free Rein Coffee company, HuffPost reports.

In the lawsuit, filed in Texas where both companies are based, Bosque Ranch is accusing Free Rein of using a logo and “cowboy” theme that is nearly identical to their own coffee brand.

Bosque Ranch launched their coffee in June, an use a trademarked “B” and “R” logo, promotes the cowboy way of life, and are alleging trademark infringement against Free Rein, which launched in October, who uses a stylized “F” and “R” and also promotes a cowboy way of life.

The lawsuit claims that Cole‘s Free Rein is “confusingly similar to the BR Brand used by Bosque Ranch” and “likely to cause confusion or to cause mistake or to deceive.”

Bosque Ranch is seeking a jury trial and says they are entitled to all of Free Rein’s “profits, damage compensation, prejudgement interest and legal fee coverage.”

Speaking of Yellowstone, the show’s final episodes finally have a premiere date.

Back in May, it was announced that the hit show from Taylor Sheridan would be ending with its fifth season.

On Thursday (Nov. 2), Paramount revealed when the final episodes will be airing, and also announced that two new spinoff shows had been ordered.

The final episodes of Yellowstone are now expected to air in November 2024, Variety reports.

In addition, Paramount has greenlit two new spinoff series – 1944 and a modern series titled 2024.

“Within five years, we grew Yellowstone from a hit U.S. cable show with five million viewers into a global hit franchise with over 100 million fans around the world and multiple extensions – and, we’re just getting started,” Chris McCarthy, president and CEO of Showtime & MTV Entertainment Studios, shared in a statement.

His statement continued, “On the heels of 1883 and 1923’s success, our new planned spinoffs, 1944 and 2024, will take audiences on a thrilling, new and unexpected journey with the complex and compelling storytelling that has become a hallmark of the franchise and has helped turn it into a worldwide cultural phenomenon – thanks to the creative mastermind of Taylor Sheridan.”

While plot details are being kept under wraps, 2024 is rumored to be the series that Matthew McConaughey is is in talks to star in.

New details recently emerged about Kevin Costner‘s Yellowstone contract, which seems to be at the center of the drama between the actor and the series creator.

Paramount+ dropped the first pics and first trailer for Lawmen: Bass Reeves, which will be out on the streaming network this fall.

Here’s the official summary: Lawmen: Bass Reeves will bring the legendary lawman and outlaws of the Wild West to life. Reeves (David Oyelowo), known as the greatest frontier hero in American history, worked in the post-Reconstruction era as a federal peace officer in the Indian Territory, capturing over 3,000 of the most dangerous criminals without ever being wounded.

The network plans to feature other infamous lawmen in future iterations.

David will star with Lauren E. Banks, Demi Singleton, Forrest Goodluck, Barry Pepper, Donald Sutherland and Dennis Quaid.

Before Yellowstone landed at Paramount, Taylor Sheridan pitched the modern Western series to a handful of other networks, including HBO.

In his cover story with The Hollywood Reporter, the 53-year-old filmmaker opened up about HBO’s critiques of the series as he attempted to get the show greenlit and just why the network hated Beth Dutton.

According to Taylor, HBO went back and forth with him on giving Yellowstone a series order for a multitude of reasons.

The first issue was Kevin Costner playing John Dutton, as they wanted Robert Redford.

“They said, ‘If you can get us Robert Redford, we’ll greenlight the pilot,’” he recalled. “I drive to Sundance and spend the day with [Redford] and he agrees to play John Dutton. I call the senior vice president in charge of production and say, ‘I got him!’ ‘You got who?’ ‘Robert Redford.’ ‘What?!‘ ‘You said if I got Robert Redford, you’d greenlight the show.’ And he says — and you can’t make this shit up — ‘We meant a Robert Redford type.’”

Beyond that, Taylor also said that HBO was not a fan of Beth Dutton, who is played by Kelly Reilly, and said that women would hate her too.

“‘We think she’s too abrasive. We want to tone her down. Women won’t like her,’” he said that they told him about the character.

Like many women viewers, Taylor knew they were wrong, “because Beth says the quiet part out loud every time. When someone’s rude to you in a restaurant, or cuts you off in the parking lot, Beth says the thing you wish you’d said.”

After HBO completely passed on the show, Taylor got the rights back to the show and took it elsewhere, including TNT and TBS, before Paramount picked it up.
