NBC is slowly revealing cast updates for the upcoming 51st season of Saturday Night Live and some new featured players were just announced.
One longtime member of the writing staff, who has appeared in sketches over the years, is now part of the cast for the first time alongside four newcomers.
We also know that one regular cast member is confirmed to return, plus four actors have already revealed they’re leaving the show.

Emil Wakim is leaving Saturday Night Live.
The 27-year-old comedian, who was a featured player on the NBC sketch comedy series for one season, is leaving ahead of the premiere of Season 51.
He confirmed the news himself in a statement on social media on Wednesday (August 27).

We’re currently in the middle of Saturday Night Live‘s landmark 50th season and there were some changes to the cast this year.
11 of your favorite full-time cast members returned and three of the featured players from last season were promoted to main cast members.
Two full-time stars left the show and aren’t on the current season and one of last year’s featured players revealed she was not asked back. There are also three new featured players joining the cast for season 50.
SNL season 50 airs on Saturday nights at 11:30pm ET on NBC and Peacock.

Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost enjoyed a very rare public date night at The American Museum of Natural History’s 2024 Museum Gala on Thursday night (December 5) in New York City.
The longtime couple posed for photos together on the red carpet at the American Museum of Natural History.
For the occasion, Scarlett wore a black velvet ballgown with pockets while Colin opted for a sleek tuxedo.
