Changes are coming to Samuel L Jackson‘s upcoming new Tulsa King spinoff series!

The actor is set to star in and executive produce the television show, previously titled NOLA King, and was to be set in New Orleans.

Now, it has been revealed that the upcoming series will be set in a new city, with a name change as well.

According to THR, the show is being from New Orleans to Frisco, Texas, and it will now be titled Frisco King.

It will still center on Samuel‘s Russell Lee Washington Jr, who was introduced in Tulsa King season three.

In addition, EP Taylor Sheridan has also been tapped to write all eight episodes of the new series.

“We are honored to have Taylor Sheridan write the first season of Frisco King and bring to life Samuel L. Jackson’s iconic character,” Matt Thunell, president of Paramount Television Studios, shared in a statement. “Having him pen all episodes of the season with his singular voice will be a treat for fans of Tulsa King and audiences around the world.”

Filming on the project is set to begin in late March in Fort Worth, Texas.

“Taylor Sheridan continues to build worlds that attract some of the most iconic talent working today, and Frisco King is no exception,” Jane Wiseman, head of originals at Paramount+, said. “Having Samuel L. Jackson step into this universe is a testament to the scale and ambition of the storytelling Taylor is crafting. We’re thrilled to expand this storyline with such a powerhouse creative team and cast on Paramount+.”

We finally know the plot of the new Taylor Sheridan TV show The Madison, starring Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell.

The Madison is “a heartfelt study of grief and human connection following a New York City family in the Madison River valley of central Montana,” and unfolds “across two distinct worlds – the beautiful landscape of Montana and the vibrant energy of Manhattan – as it examines the ties that bind families together.”

From the looks of the trailer, a major tragedy will fall on Michelle‘s family.

The Madison season one will consist of six episodes, and is set to debut Saturday, March 14th on Paramount+ with the first three episodes. The second three episodes will debut the following week.

The third season of School Spirits is finally here!

Paramount+‘s supernatural series just dropped the first three episodes on Wednesday (January 28), and there are a few changes to the cast.

The new season picks up after the events of the season two finale: “After clawing her way back to life, Maddie struggles with terrifying visions and the weight of protecting both the living and the dead while Simon – trapped in the afterlife – becomes obsessed with the secrets buried in Split River High’s scars. Why have so many people died at Split River High? What was Mr. Martin warning them about? As they search for answers, new dangers and dark secrets begin to surface.”

Landman season two wrapped up this weekend on Paramount+, and fans are already looking forward to season three.

Star Trek: Starfleet Academy just premiered!

The Paramount+ series debuted on the streamer on January 15, and “introduces viewers to a young group of cadets who come together to pursue a common dream of hope and optimism.”

Here’s a synopsis: “Under the watchful and demanding eyes of their instructors, they discover what it takes to become Starfleet officers as they navigate blossoming friendships, explosive rivalries, first loves and a new enemy that threatens both the Academy and the Federation itself.”

The show stars Holly Hunter as the Chancellor of Starfleet Academy, while the Starfleet cadets played by Sandro Rosta, Karim Diané Kerrice Brooks, George Hawkins and Bella Shepard, plus Zoë Steiner, Tig Notaro, Robert Picardo, and guest stars Oded Fehr, Mary Wiseman, as well as recurring guest stars Gina Yashere and Paul Giamatti.

The series premiered with two episodes on Thursday, January 15 on Paramount+ in the U.S. Following the premiere, new episodes of the 10-episode-long season will drop weekly on Thursdays, with the season finale on Thursday, March 12.

But what are the critics saying?

Star Trek: Starfleet Academy currently has an 85% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with a 35% audience score.

Variety says: “It’s likely somewhat different from what long-time Trekkies are accustomed to, but perhaps that is the point. To ensure the franchise lasts at least another 60 years, it must reflect our actual world.”

RogerEbert.com says: “If creator Giala Violo and showrunner Noga Landau keep sharpening their characters’ immature edges, they might just find exciting new frontiers to explore.”

The LA Times says: “I am soft-hearted — you may say soft-headed — regarding this good-hearted TV galaxy, willing to go wherever the cosmic winds do blow, always hoping for it to live long and prosper. And… I can declare that I like Starfleet Academy fine.”

Empire Magazine gave it 4 out of 5, writing: “By embracing the imperfect and trying something new, Starfleet Academy sets itself apart as a compelling spin-off that boldly goes where no Star Trek story has gone before.”

The San Francisco Chronicle gave it 3 out of 4, writing: “Star Trek endures because it keeps returning to the radical idea that hope is something you build patiently over time. Whether this series can live up to that legacy remains an open question, but it’s planting some of the right seeds.”

Users seem to have different opinions than the critics, however.

@Jaybiam writes: “What is this??? I am not a Trekker/Trekkie, but a long time fan and this is pure garbage! Everything that is… WAS Star Trek is flipped upside down in this mess!”

@Shader writes: “This show ain’t for any audience… It’s just a pile of feminist ideology packed in Star Trek IP… and quite poorly at that as well.”

@WalkOnWalter writes: “Beam a-bored! It’s One Trek Hill, without all the good writing. If you long for the days of late ’90s and early 2000s teen drama and don’t care about anything related to good acting, writing, directing, or anything like that, this is the show for you.”

@Ealye79 writes: “It’s everything I’ve come to expect from a show that the critics love. It doesn’t have any respect for the source material whatsoever.”

@Matthew1644 writes: “ Star Trek used to be thought provoking while this is the death thought. This show wasn’t done for the fans it wasn’t done for a new young audience, if it was intended for a new young audience teenagers should feel insulted so little is thought of them.”

Anne Hathaway has booked her next TV role!

On Thursday (January 15), it was announced that the 43-year-old Oscar-winning actress will be starring in and executive producing the new limited series titled Fear Not from writer Bash Doran for Paramount+.

Here’s the synopsis per Deadline: “Fear Not tells the story of prolific serial killer Stephen Morin — accused of more crimes than Ted Bundy — and the unlikely bond he formed with Margy Palm (Hathaway), the last woman he ever kidnapped. Morin’s abduction of Palm, which started as a deadly captive situation, took an unlikely turn; one which included compassion, prayer, and profound courage. Palm’s devotion to her faith and her insistence that Morin could be transformed, became the impetus of a relationship that lasted long after Palm was returned to safety — until Morin received the death penalty.”

Star Trek veteran Kate Mulgrew, Star Trek: Picard star Michelle Hurd, and famed science educator Bill Nye came out to the NYC premiere held at American Museum of Natural History on Tuesday night (January 6) to celebrate the show with the rest of the cast. A reception for the premiere was held afterward.

Paramount+ has revealed the very first TV show renewal of 2026: Mayor of Kingstown is getting a fifth season!

But there’s some bittersweet news about the Jeremy Renner-led drama series. While the show will be getting another season, it will be its last on the streamer.

They confirmed that Edie Falco will also be returning for the final season.

Season four wrapped up in December.

In season four, Mike’s control over Kingstown is threatened as new players compete to fill the power vacuum left in the Russians’ wake, compelling him to confront the resulting gang war and stop them from swallowing the town. Unfortunately, there were a lot of titles axed throughout the year, and we have the full list of every major series that was impacted across the biggest networks and streamers.

Criminal Minds will be back for a 19th season on Paramount+ and we have some updates on changes coming to the cast for the next installment.

While this is the 19th season overall of the beloved CBS show, this is the four season of the Evolution continuation that airs on the streaming service.

Showrunner Erica Messer revealed over the summer that the upcoming season will focus on Adam Rodriguez‘s character.

“Alvez has a lot going on this season, and it really kicks off in the second episode of the season, which we’ve already shot. I think it’s his year to sort of grow and shine a little bit more. And Adam’s so good. I think there wasn’t a dry eye when we screened the second episode. And that’s all I’ll say,” Erica told TV Insider.

Thomas Jane is set to make an appearance in the upcoming fifth and final season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds!

The 56-year-old actor has joined the cast of the Star Trek series for the show’s upcoming finale, according to Variety.

Also joining the cast for the final episode is Kai Murakami.

Thomas has been cast in the role of Leonard “Bones” McCoy, while Kai will play Hikaru Sulu in his TV debut, both iconic roles in the franchise.

Leonard McCoy has previously been played by DeForest Kelley and Karl Urban. Hikaru was made famous by George Takei, and has also been portrayed by John Cho.

Season four has yet to air, but season five recently wrapped production.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds tells the story of “Captain Christopher Pike (Anson Mount) leading the USS Enterprise before James T. Kirk (Paul Wesley) took command. On the original series, Pike is introduced as a man who’s been horribly disfigured and paralyzed, and on ‘Strange New Worlds,’ Pike knows of his eventual tragic fate even as he forges ahead as the Enterprise’s captain.”

NCIS: Tony & Ziva is officially canceled after only 1 season on Paramount+.

The show starred franchise favorites Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo reprising their roles as Tony DiNozzo and Ziva David. They released a comment about the news.

Ink Master Season 17 has come to an end!

The long-running tattoo competition series returned at the end of October, featuring 15 prominent tattoo artists competing for a $250,000 prize.

Here’s a synopsis: “In the new season of Ink Master, 15 new artists compete as ‘hometown heroes,’ vying for a $250,000 prize in the ultimate tattoo competition, and for the opportunity to put their hometowns on the map. With reputations and regional pride on the line, contestants will put their skills to the test in a series of epic, high-stakes challenges, proving their artistry and versatility to impress the judges. Only one will win the money and earn the title of Ink Master.”

After several weeks, the contestants were whittled down to four contestants for the finale, which aired on Wednesday (December 17).

Little Disasters is here!

The six-part psychological thriller adapted from the bestselling novel by Sarah Vaughan premiered all episodes on Thursday, December 11, exclusively on Paramount+.

Ben Bailey Smith, Patrick Baladi and Stephen Campbell Moore all star as well in the Eva Sigurðardóttir directed project, which pairs realism and suspense to create an intimate yet unnerving portrait of modern motherhood.

Critics have begun weighing in on the series already.

The show currently has a 67% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

AV Club gave it a C-, writing: “It’s really a laundry-folding show at heart. You might even be able to get in a little vacuuming and still not miss a beat.”

The Daily Beast writes: “Sudsy beyond belief, it’s another tale of upper-middle-class dysfunction, and one whose twists and turns are almost as laughable as its climactic value judgments.”

The Post NZ writes: “The biggest draw though is noughties German Hollywood queen Kruger, whose pitch-perfect performance keeps you enthralled and guessing as to what her mysterious mother’s culpability might be.”

Collider gave it a 7 out of 10, writing: “Through a thrilling psychological premise, Little Disasters hooks the viewer from the very first scene, forcing them to draw conclusions about Jess and Ed’s innocence from the outside looking in.”

Looper gave it an 8 out of 10, writing: “Little Disasters manages to turn a complicated narrative into a cohesive and thought-provoking story about the importance of maternal mental health. ”

Heaven of Horror gave it a 3 out of 5, writing: “It quickly becomes a heartbreaking and twisted story about motherhood, expectations, and judgment.”
