This year’s big game became the most-watched show in the history of NBC, with 137.8 million viewers watching in the second quarter as the Seattle Seahawks led the New England Patriots 6-0, marking the highest peak viewership in U.S. TV history.

The Seahawks’ 29-13 victory averaged 124.9 million viewers on NBC, Peacock, Telemundo, NFL+, and NBC Sports Digital, according to the live + same day Nielsen Big Data and Panel. It became the second-most watched show in U.S. history, behind last year’s Super Bowl on Fox.

“It’s about him. It’s about him being chosen as the Super Bowl performer,” she said. “Somebody who’s been an outspoken critic, of course, of the Trump administration and of America and our anti-immigrant policies. This is long before the current controversy over ICE. He doesn’t want illegals deported from this country. Well, too bad, because the majority of Americans do want that and are not shy about pushing for it. And that’s why President Trump got elected.”

“I’m sorry, Piers, but to get up there and perform the whole show in Spanish is a middle finger to the rest of America,” she continued. “Who gives a damn that we have 40 million Spanish speakers in the United States? We have 310 million who don’t speak a lick of Spanish. This is supposed to be a unifying event for the country – not for the Latinos, not for one small group, but for the country. We don’t need a Black National Anthem, We don’t need a Spanish-speaking non English performing performer, and we don’t need an ICE or America hater featured as our half time entertainment!”

Piers disagreed and said, “I thought as a piece of theatre, it was the best I’ve seen!”

Piers tried to level with Megyn, pointing out how the United States does not have an official language. He also pointed out how she’s never called out Trump for playing Pavarotti‘s “Nessun Dorma” at rallies, even though the song is in Italian.

“We have to keep the Super Bowl, which is a quintessential American event. Football – that kind of football – is ours,” Kelly said. “They call it American football. And the halftime show and everything around it needs to stay quintessentially American, not Spanish, not Muslim, not anything other than good old-fashioned American apple pie. There should be a meatloaf, maybe some fried chicken, and an English-speaking performer. That’s what the Super Bowl should be.”

Last year, Kevin‘s social media accounts for the character went viral, with people wondering if Matt Taylor was a real person who just looked like the actor. Turns out, it was the actor all along and he was just promoting the film.

Matt‘s appearance at the Super Bowl seemed to be a play off the plot of the movie.

Alex González, the man who ran onto the field at the 2026 Super Bowl and was dubbed a “streaker,” has shared POV video that he filmed in the moment.

Alex, 25, was wearing Meta glasses and recorded the moment when he ran across the Levi’s Stadium field while shirtless. New England Patriots receiver Kyle Williams helped catch him and bring him down.

This isn’t the first time that Alex has gotten onto a Super Bowl field. The New York Post reports that he also got on the field in 2024.

On the front of his chest, Alex wrote “trade in the blind spot” and on his back, he wrote “trade with Athena,” along with his social media handle @fxalexg.

“They where never catching me 😂,” Alex captioned the video on TikTok.

Los Angeles Times reports he was “arrested at the stadium during the game for allegedly trespassing and field incursion.”

Ricky Martin is still processing his surprise appearance at the 2026 Super Bowl.

During the big game on Sunday (February 8), joined fellow Puerto Rican Bad Bunny during his Halftime Show. While on the field, Ricky sang “Lo Que Le Pasó a Hawaii,” which is featured on Bad Bunny‘s latest album DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS.

According to Andrew Athias, as told to Business Insider, one of the roughly 500 field performers revealed they earned $18.70 per hour for the gig.

“I found the grass gig through a company called Backlit, which handles finding extras for the halftime show. I found it last year when I saw Kendrick Lamar at the Super Bowl halftime show, but I forgot about it until Bad Bunny was announced as Super Bowl’s headliner in October, and I decided to apply,” Andrew explained.

“My part was actually really easy. They just told me where to stand, and they said, ‘Don’t move. Stand here and be one with the grass.’”

Sports business reporter Darren Rovell did the math and tweeted that the “people inside trees were paid $18.70 an hour for 70 hours of work ($1,309). Included 8 days of rehearsals + Game Day.”

Andrew said he flew in from Philadelphia and spent about two weeks in San Francisco rehearsing for the show, including several 12-hour practices wearing the 40-plus-pound grass costume.

“The suits were heavy and uncomfortable. Every now and again, you’ll have a blade of plastic grass going places where grass should not go. Fortunately, we were given some protective goggles,” the extra said.

“It was really cool to see Bad Bunny perform just a foot away. But because he was in LA for the Grammys during some of our rehearsals, the crew had a Bad Bunny stand-in they called ‘Good Rabbit.’”

The casting call reportedly required performers to be between 5′ 7″ and 6′, athletic and comfortable dancing in close quarters for long periods.

Despite the long hours and heavy suits, he said the experience was worth it, even joking he’d do it for free to be a part of Bad Bunny‘s historic performance.

“El Apagón” translates as “the blackout” or “the power outage,” symbolizing the frequent power cuts in Puerto Rico and calling out government inaction. It was also visually represented in the Super Bowl halftime show as he climbed the electrical poles.

Sam Darnold, the 28-year-old quarterback for the Seattle Seahawks, helped lead the team to their triumphant victory over the New England Patriots.

Statistically, he completed 19 of 38 passes for 202 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions. Not the flashiest game, but not turning the ball over was huge while playing against the Patriots’ strong defense.

The Seahawks were off to a quick lead during the game, which took place on Sunday (February 8) at Levi’s Stadium in San Francisco, Calif.

The team got four field goals early in the game for a 12-0 lead over the New England Patriots. Eventually, both teams did score touchdowns, but the Patriots couldn’t score enough points for a comeback.

The Seahawks won the game 29-13.

Mike Macdonald has become the third-youngest head coach to win the Super Bowl at 38 years old.

This marks the second time that the Seahawks have won the Super Bowl. The previous time was back in 2014 when the team was led by second-year quarterback Russell Wilson.

Organizers have been boycotting and protesting Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) activity in their communities and calling for defunding of the program amid the ICE-related deaths of at least eight people in 2026 alone.
