The 2026 Oscars are almost here, and the race for Best Actor is heating up following the latest results at the 2026 BAFTA Film Awards.

With awards season in full swing, the five nominees for Best Actor are battling it out, and recent wins have shaken up the conversation ahead of Hollywood’s biggest night.

The 2026 BAFTA Film Awards are happening now!

The 79th British Academy Film Awards take place Sunday (February 22), celebrating the best national and foreign films of 2025, at the Royal Festival Hall in Southbank Centre in London, England.

The awards ceremony honors the best feature-length films and documentaries of any nationality that were screened at British cinemas in 2025, and are being hosted by Alan Cumming for the first time.

E! will air the ceremony for the first time as a pre-recorded special, starting at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

Leonardo DiCaprio is enjoying a night out with his dad!

The 51-year-old Wolf of Wall Street actor and his dad George DiCaprio arrived at Funke restaurant for dinner on Tuesday night (February 17) in Beverly Hills, Calif.

For their dinner outing, Leo wore a navy jacket over a black zip-up hoodie paired with jeans and a black baseball hat while George, 82, wore a navy jacket and gray pants.

Last week, Leo joined tons of other stars at the 2026 Oscar Nominees Luncheon. If you didn’t know, he’s nominated for Best Actor for his role in One Battle After Another.

The Oscar-winning actor was joined by One Battle After Another co-stars Sean Penn and Benicio Del Toro at the Hammond Cinema Vanguard Award ceremony on Monday night (February 9) at the Arlington Theatre in Santa Barbara, Calif.

The three actors were all honored at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival.

Leo was one of more than 90 celebs who were spotted in the crowd at the Super Bowl on Sunday night in San Francisco.

One Battle After Another is currently nominated for 13 Oscars, including Best Picture. Leo, Sean, and Benicio are all nominated for their performances as well.

We’re still more than a month away from the Oscars, but the guild awards are already happening and Hollywood stepped out to support directors at the 2026 DGA Awards!

Leonardo DiCaprio, Olivia Wilde, Timothee Chalamet, and Kerry Washington were among the celebs at the Directors Guild of America Awards on Saturday night (February 7) at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, Calif.

One Battle After Another‘s Paul Thomas Anderson won the big award of the night for Theatrical Feature Film directing, paving his way to possibly take home the Best Director award at the Oscars next month.

Each of the five nominated directors – Anderson, Frankenstein‘s Guillermo Del Toro, Hamnet‘s Chloe Zhao, Marty Supreme‘s Josh Safdie, and Sinners‘ Ryan Coogler – received tributes from the collaborators during the event.

Leo honored Anderson, Jacob Elordi paid tribute to Del Toro, Hamnet producer Steven Spielberg honored Zhao, Timothee was there to honor Josh, and Michael B. Jordan paid tribute to Coogler.

In a new interview with Deadline, Leo was asked directly about it and he declined to reveal the other person’s name.

Leonardo DiCaprio really did express his love for pasta at a young age!

The 51-year-old actor was playfully mocked by the 2026 Golden Globes host Nikki Glaser during her opening monologue.

At one point, while teasing him for his history of dating younger women, she admitted it was hard finding anything about the notoriously private actor.

“Leo, I’m sorry I made that joke, it’s cheap, I tried not to. But we don’t know anything else about you, man. There’s nothing else. I searched. The most in-depth interview you’ve ever given was in Teen Beat in 1991. Is your favorite food still ‘pasta, pasta and more pasta?’” she asked, to which he agreed.

The Internet quickly found the then 16-year-old actor’s interview from the magazine.

A scan of the interview revealed that he also shared his favorite vacation spot is “Europe (Germany),” favorite colors are “black and purple,” favorite type of clothes is “Nike,” and worst school subject is “math.”

He cited his first ambition as “acting,” and revealed his first record was Michael Jackson‘s Thriller, and his favorite book is Lord of the Flies.

The 2025 Critics’ Choice Awards were her first time. She returned in 2026 in partnership with Cold Stone Creamery and Wetzel’s Pretzels.

Chelsea Handler took a dig at Leonardo DiCaprio‘s weekend troubles!

The 50-year-old comedian used her opening monologue at the 2026 Critics Choice Awards on Sunday (January 4) to joke about the One Battle After Another star being stranded in St Barts over the weekend.

If you don’t know, Leo was unable to make it to the Palm Springs International Film Festival Film Awards the day before as he wasn’t able to catch a flight out of St Barts in time. There were air traffic restrictions due to the geopolitical situation in Venezuela.

“Leo almost didn’t make it tonight because he was trapped on a boat in St. Barts,” Chelsea joked, as the actor could be seen laughing.

“It was just like the Titanic, but worse, because Jeff Bezos was there,” she added, referencing his 1997 movie about the sinking cruise ship.

Leonardo and girlfriend Vittoria Ceretti were seen ringing in the new year in St Barts with Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez, among others, on their superyacht.

The 2026 Oscars are right around the corner!

Right now, lots of people are debating which stars will take home some of the biggest prizes of the evening, including Best Actor.

The official nominees won’t be announced until later this month (Thursday, January 22, 2026), with the ceremony itself taking place on Sunday, March 15, 2026.

According to Variety, the 51-year-old Oscar winner was going to be at the gala to receive his Desert Palm Achievement Award in person for his work in the acclaimed film. But he wasn’t able to leave St. Barts, where he has been on vacation, amid the current air restrictions.

Chase looked chic in a belted tailored blazer with matching pants and Teyana wore a One Battle After Another graphic tee with some stylish wide-legged jeans.

Leonardo DiCaprio and Vittoria Ceretti are stepping out for a quiet lunch date.

The couple left Beverly Grill restaurant after a quick bite to eat on Tuesday afternoon (December 23) in Beverly Hills, Calif.

For their outing, the 51-yer-old One Battle After Another actor kept a low profile in an all-black outfit with a low baseball hat while the 27-year-old Italian model wore a red jacket, black shirt, and jeans.

It was recently reported that a sequel to the 1995 hit movie Heat is in the works and Leo is in talks to star in it! Find out more about the upcoming project here.

During the conversation, he revealed he’s never re-watched his work in one of his most acclaimed roles.

“PTA [Paul Thomas Anderson] was your white whale for a while after [you didn’t do] Boogie Nights. Who is your white whale now?” Jennifer asked him.

“There’s a lot of great directors out there. Damien Chazelle is very talented. Michael Mann’s amazing, I’ve always wanted to work with him. I don’t have one specifically, Paul was always somebody generationally that I really looked up to. We almost did Boogie Nights together, and then I got to watch his entire career progress over the last 25 years and see this incredible visionary,” he replied.

“Did you pass on Boogie Nights?” Jennifer asked.

“It was a hybrid of that. Titanic and Boogie Nights kind of overlapped in production. Maybe it could have worked out,” Leo reflected.

“Have you rewatched Titanic?” Jennifer then inquired.

“No. I haven’t seen it before,” Leo revealed, as Jennifer remarked: “Oh, you should. I bet you could watch it now, it’s so good.”

“I don’t really watch my films, do you?” Leo asked.

“No. I’ve never made something like Titanic, if I did I would watch it. Once I was really drunk, I put on American Hustle. I was like, ‘I wonder if I’m good at acting?’ I put it on, and I don’t remember what the answer is,” Jennifer amusingly said.

Leo also shared why he’s so private about his personal life.

Leonardo DiCaprio is being honored!

The 51-year-old Oscar-winning actor was named Entertainer of the Year at TIME’s 2025 A Year in TIME event on Wednesday evening (December 11) held at Current at Chelsea Piers in New York City.

During the event, Leo appeared on stage with frequent collaborator Martin Scorsese for a conversation.

The TIME Person of the Year recognizes the individual or group who most influenced the world over the past year.

Fellow honorees in attendance included Athlete of the Yer A’ja Wilson and the stars of KPop Demon Hunters, who were named Breakthrough of the Year.

Other stars in attendance at the event included Mark Ronson, Gayle King, LL Cool J, Diane Von Furstenberg, and Porsha Williams.

In his new profile with TIME, Leo shared his philosophy for why he’s so private when it comes to his personal life.
