Billy Bush‘s Extra replacement has been revealed: Derek Hough!

The DWTS judge shared a statement about the news. If you don’t know, Billy announced he was leaving the celeb news series back in May.

I’m truly looking forward to collaborating with this incredible team, diving into this next creative chapter, and connecting with fans and audiences in a whole new way. It’s an honor to join a show that’s been a cornerstone of entertainment news for over 30 years — and I’m ready to help lead it into a bold, fresh new era for Season 32 and beyond,” Derek said in a statement.

Extra was renewed by Fox back in March and at the time, it was unclear if Billy would return. Now, it’s confirmed he won’t be back.

Billy Bush is recalling “the most uncomfortable celebrity situation” he ever had, and it involves Ricky Martin.

The 53-year-old entertainment host made an appearance on Literally! with Rob Lowe, and spoke about an interview with the “Livin’ La Vida Loca” singer around the time of his self-titled debut in 1999.

“I was young and working out of New York the first couple years on Access Hollywood, East Coast correspondent. I got the call to go down and interview Ricky Martin in Miami for his new album and Mariah Carey the night before,” he recalled.

“I know Barbara Walters had asked him about his sexuality. I’m like, ‘Wouldn’t that be a big news maker?’”

Billy Bush is addressing Donald Trump‘s infamous Access Hollywood tape.

During a new interview with Rob Lowe on the actor’s SiriusXM podcast Literally! With Rob Lowe, the former host said that he flagged the President’s comments more than a decade before the scandal broke.

“The day of the filming in 2005, I called my producer [and] said, ‘You’re not gonna believe what Trump said. He is going after Nancy.’ All I said was ‘Nancy O’Dell’ because I didn’t hear the other stuff,” he explained.

The “other stuff” seemingly referred to Trump’s comments about grabbing women by the genitals.

Billy Bush is currently the host of Fox’s entertainment news show Extra and even though the show is renewed for another season, it’s unclear if he’ll be returning.

The show aired on NBC for years and moved to Fox in 2019, with Billy joining the show as the new host. He has remained on the show for six seasons.

Deadline confirms that Extra is returning to Fox for season 32 in Fall 2025, but Billy‘s future is uncertain.

Arianne Zucker, who has played Days of Our Lives star Nicole Walker on the series since 1998, is exiting the series in July and she’s speaking out a bit about her final episode.

If you don’t know, the 49-year-old actress has been involved in a lawsuit, where she is suing Corday Production Inc., executive producer Ken Corday and former executive producer Albert Alarr, claiming Alarr sexually harassed her and other female employees on the show. She says she was subjected to nonconsensual sexual touching and sexually harassing comments during his employment, claiming he would frequently pull her close to his chest and make sexual moans while doing so.

In October, Arianne said her contract was running out and she attempted to negotiate with Corday Productions, who gave her a “take it or leave it” offer and wouldn’t negotiate in “good faith.” Her old contract expired in January 2024, which she says means she was essentially fired from her job.

Billy Bush is in hot water over a leaked audio recording in which he is heard making a sexual comment about Kendall Jenner while on the set of Extra, though the show is standing by him.

You probably remember that Billy‘s career took a turn back in 2016 when a recording of him and Donald Trump was leaked. The tape, which was from 2005, featured Trump saying, “When you’re a star, [women] let you do it. You can do anything. Grab ’em by the pussy.”

Billy responded, “Whatever you want.” After the tape was leaked, he was fired from Today. Extra hired him in 2019.
