MGM+ has announced the renewal of the adventure drama, which was one of the streamer’s “all-time best first-season performers.”
Following the success of the first season, the series will return for 10 more episodes!

MGM+ has ordered an eight-episode drama inspired by the classic western, with Heroes creator Tim Kring serving as writer and executive producer, reports Variety. Production is expected to begin in June 2026.

Billy the Kid Season 3 is coming to an end on Sunday (November 23).
The Tom Blyth-starring MGM+ TV show follows Billy the Kid and his Regulators, defeated in the Lincoln County War, who embark on a final vengeful quest against New Mexico’s corrupt powers, transforming a young outlaw into an American legend.
The final episode of Season 3 airs at 10 p.m. ET on MGM+ on Sunday night (November 23).
In the episode, Billy returns to New Mexico seeking revenge on Thomas Catron, finding an unlikely conspirator in the Governor’s own daughter Emily as he risks everything for justice.
Of course, fans are wondering if the show will extend past its third season.
