Toddler, 3, Found After Family Invited Kidnapping Suspect Into Home Because She 'Needed Helping Hand'

A missing toddler in Arizona has been safely recovered, and the suspect accused of kidnapping her was arrested after denying that she was a “serial kidnapper.”

The Avondale Police Department issued an Amber Alert for 3-year-old Kehlani Rogers on Saturday (February 21). Per a release on Facebook, she was last seen at her home the day prior around 11:30 p.m.

A suspect, later identified by police as 23-year-old Marina Noriega was mentioned in the Amber Alert. Family told ABC15 Arizona that Noriega was a stranger that Kehlani‘s parents let into their home because she “needed a helping hand.”

In an update on Sunday (February 22), authorities confirmed that Kehlani had been safely recovered.

Missing Mom of 3 Found 'Alive & Well' Leading New Life Nearly 25 Years Later Shares Reason for Disappearance (Police)

Michele Hundley Smith opened up to authorities about the reason that she disappeared from her family’s lives and started a second life of her own nearly 25 years ago.

Hundley Smith was 38 when she left her home in Eden, N.C. on December 9, 2001. Her two youngest children and husband believed that she was going for a shopping trip across state lines in Virginia, according to a 2020 Dateline interview with her daughter Amanda.

However, that was the last time that the mom of three was seen by her family and loved ones for more than 24 years.

On Saturday (February 20), the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office issued a news release on Facebook, confirming that Hundley Smith, now in her 60s, had been found “alive and well.”

In a new interview, the local sheriff opened up about a conversation that the department had with the recovered woman, in which she alleged a reason for her disappearance.

A North Carolina mom of three who was last seen in December 2001 has been discovered “alive and well” by authorities more than 24 years later. Now, her family is speaking out.

On Friday (February 20), the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office confirmed in a news release on Facebook that they were successful in closing a decades-old missing person case regarding the “troubling” disappearance of Michele Hundley Smith.

Per the release, Hundley Smith, then 38, was last seen on December 9, 2001, when she left her family home in Eden, N.C. to travel across state lines to shop at a K-Mart in Martinsville, Va.

Authorities spent the following decades determined to find the missing mother and wife but were unsuccessful until a recent lead led them to the woman. However, her recovery is raising new questions for the family.

Man Saves Child After Stroller Is Blown Into Lake Despite Not Knowing How to Swim: 'Wasn't Going to Let That Baby Die'

A heroic man dove into Lake Michigan to save an 8-month-old baby after her stroller was caught in a gust of wind.

The Chicago Police Department told Just Jared that the incident occurred around 3 p.m. on Wednesday (February 18).

“Multiple witnesses on scene quickly reacted and rescued the child from the water,” the release read, noting that the baby was treated at Lurie’s Children’s Hospital and was “initially listed in good condition.”

One of the Good Samaritans involved was Lio Cundiff, who told CBS News that he immediately leaped into action and dove into the water even though he didn’t know how to swim.
