News broke last night of the tragic death of Robert Carradine, who sadly passed away at 71 after taking his own life due to Bipolar Disorder.

This has brought a renewed interest in his family, who are a multi-generational acting dynasty.

Robert‘s dad is John Carradine, who was a highly prolific actor in Hollywood. He also had siblings who were actors, including Keith Carradine.

In addition, he had a half-brother named David Carradine, who tragically died at the age of 72 back in 2009. He was found dead in a hotel room in Bangkok, Thailand.

David‘s cause of death is getting attention again, upon news of his half-brother’s tragic death.

These may be the very latest pictures of Kung Fu star David Carradine, who was seen running errands barefoot on Thursday (May 21) in Tarzana, Calif.

The 72-year-old was seen buying newspapers at All-American Newsstand, driving his maroon Jaguar to Office Depot to pick up supplies and purchasing flowers from a local market.

Carradine wrestled with suicidal thoughts long before his death in a Bangkok hotel. A 2004 interview was dug up by The Telegraph Newspaper, where Carradine admits he considered shooting himself.

Carradine said, “Look, there was a period in my life when I had a single action Colt 45, loaded, in my desk drawer. And every night I’d take it out and think about blowing my head off, and then decide not to and go on with my life. Put it back in the drawer and open up the laptop and continue writing my autobiography or whatever. But it was just to see.”

UPDATE: Reuters is reporting that Carradine was found dead, naked and hanging from a rope in the closet of his hotel room in Bangkok on Thursday morning.

Actor David Carradine was found dead in a Bangkok hotel room Wednesday.

His manager Chuck Binder said that Carradine was in Thailand shooting his latest film Stretch, and that he believes the 72-year-old actor “was full of life, always wanting to work… a great person.”

Reuters is reporting that Carradine was found dead, naked and hanging from a rope in the closet of his room at Bangkok’s Nailert Hotel.

Carradine was best known for his roles in Kill Bill and the television series Kung Fu. His last pictures may be of him running errands on May 21 in Tarzana, Calif.
