Why 'Paradise' Producer Says the Show Is Ending After Season 3

Season two of Hulu’s hit show Paradise just dropped, but don’t expect for the show to stick around for years.

Executive producer and writer John Hoberg confirmed to THR in a new interview that creator Dan Fogelman is only planning on doing three seasons of the show.

“I was one of the people who was in [on the show] really early. It was me and [writer/co-executive producer] Scott Weinger with Dan [Fogelman] and Jess [Rosenthal, executive producer]. This was before we even gathered the [writers] room and Dan was trying to decide where it was going to go. That’s where we formulated the three-season idea and what those seasons would be. We knew we were in the bunker season one, and we knew we were going out and Xavier [Sterling K. Brown] was going to look for his wife [in season two],” he told THR.

John was asked if the ending is already planned out.

Why 'Paradise' Season 1 Recap Doesn't Play Until Episode 2 of Hulu's Second Season

If you’re watching season two of Paradise on Hulu, there’s a reason why the streamer doesn’t show you a season one recap before the first episode. It’s actually saved for the second episode!

The first season of the show followed the murder of President Cal Bradford (James Marsden) and how his Secret Service security detail Xavier Collins (Sterling K. Brown) was targeted as a suspect. The big twist that was revealed during the show was that it took place in an underground bunker following an apocalyptic doomsday event.

In season two, Xavier searches for his wife Teri out in the world and learns how people survived the three years since The Day. Back in Paradise, the social fabric frays as the bunker deals with the aftermath of Season 1, and new secrets are uncovered about the city’s origins.

So, why is the season one recap not shown until the beginning of episode two?

Why Alex Wasn't at Bree's Wedding in 'Tell Me Lies' Season 3

One prevailing question that many have been wondering after watching the series finale of Tell Me Lies is…what happened to Alex?

The new character, introduced in season three, and played by Costa D’Angelo, was Bree’s former foster brother. They formed a bond in the 2009 timeline.

So, many were confused when, throughout season three, Alex did not appear in the 2015 wedding scenes.

Now, the show’s creator Meaghan Oppenheimer is explaining why he was not there.

She told Variety, “Bree, probably, in her relationship with Evan, needed to distance herself from different aspects of the darker parts of her past, and I think that he served a purpose for her when they came back together in college. He’s someone who is a loner and goes his own way, and if she’s not the one reaching out to him to keep that connection, he’s going to respect that space. I think they probably just fell out of touch kind of organically, but have no hard feelings with each other. Also, it would have been really awkward for him to be invited, with Lucy as her bridesmaid. Even though fucking Stephen was invited, but that’s because of Evan. I wonder if Lucy and Alex find each other in their 30s, maybe.”

And that’s not all! She also revealed where all the characters are after the events of the finale, including who is broken up, who is still together, and who never speaks to the friend group again.

We’re breaking down where Bree, Wrigley, Evan, Lucy, Stephen, Pippa and Diana wind up.
