Universal Pictures and Nintendo have released seven character posters to promote the upcoming animated film, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie.

Brie Larson joins the cast of the franchise as Princess Rosalina, a princess from outer space, and she has her own poster!

Also new to the cast is Benny Safdie as Bowser Jr.

Returning for the sequel are Chris Pratt as Mario, Charlie Day as Luigi, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek.

An official synopsis of the movie has not yet been provided, but we know that Yoshi will be introduced as Mario and Luigi set out on an adventure into outer space and face off against Bowser Jr.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie was a huge hit in 2023, grossing $1.36 billion at the worldwide box office. The sequel is set for release on April 1, 2026.

The 2026 Super Bowl will have plenty of fun commercials and trailers to look forward to, though possibly not from the streamers and movie studios you would expect.

This year, Variety is reporting that Netflix, Apple, Amazon/MGM, and Sony will all sit out, opting not to pay NBC’s reportedly lofty $7 to $10 million (and up) fees for 30 seconds of ad time.

Nintendo just debuted a new trailer for the highly anticipated The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, set to hit theaters this April.

The animated sequel is based on the 2007 video game Super Mario Galaxy and the Mario franchise in general, following the smash hit The Super Mario Bros. Movie, released in 2023.

Universal Pictures, Illumination, and Nintendo have announced that The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is in the works and the first set of cast members have been confirmed!

The Super Mario Bros. Movie was a surprise box office smash hit back in 2023, grossing over $1.36 billion at the worldwide box office and earning three Golden Globe nominations.

The sequel will be hitting theaters on April 3, 2026 and six cast members from the original film are confirmed to return. The additional characters and voice cast will be announced at a later date.

While the movie is hitting theaters on April 3, 2026, fans in Japan will have to wait a few extra weeks as it will be released on April 24 in that country.
