Abduction of Savannah Guthrie’s mother, Nancy Guthrie

Nancy Guthrie, the mother of Today show co-host Savannah Guthrie, was abducted from her home in Tucson, Ariz. in the early hours of February 1. Sadly, Nancy is still missing and the investigation is ongoing as of February 13, 2026.

The latest updates have included evidence that DNA of someone outside the family was discovered inside Nancy‘s house in addition to the release of some security footage showing a masked person on her porch.

There have also been ransom notes, with an individual demanding money for her return. One of the latest notes suggests there might be accomplices involved.

It is already exceedingly strange for someone to kidnap an 84-year-old woman from her bed at night, but the fact she is the mother of a popular and wealthy morning show host and journalist has made this case national news.

The O.J. Simpson Trial

O.J. Simpson‘s trial has been hailed as one of the most publicized criminal trials in history. The former NFL player and actor tried and acquitted for the murders of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman, both of whom were found stabbed to death outside of Brown’s Los Angeles home in June 1994.

The trial lasted eight months and the entire thing became a widespread spectacle that was viewed by millions of people on television. Even before the trial, the news of the murders dominated the media and then there was the infamous white Ford Bronco car chase where the police pursued Simpson across Southern California after he failed to surrender.

He died at the age of 76 in 2024.
