'Narnia' Set Photos: Greta Gerwig Photographed on Location for 'Magician's Nephew' Surrounded By Set Pieces

Greta Gerwig was seen on the set of her new movie, Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew!

The 42-year-old Barbie helmer is directing the film, based on the C.S. Lewis novel in the “Narnia” franchise. Here, she was seen on Tuesday (August 26), surrounded by set pieces and props in Manchester, England. You can see all the photos in the gallery below!

The movie is set to star Emma Mackey as the White Witch, with Daniel Craig as Andrew Ketterley, Meryl Streep as Aslan, and Carey Mulligan as Mabel Kirke.

Ben Barnes is reacting to the news about Greta Gerwig‘s The Chronicles of Narnia.

If you don’t know, the 43-year-old actor starred as Prince Caspian in the 2008 and 2010 films based on the fan favorite books.

Now, a new Netflix adaptation is coming. Greta wrote the script for the upcoming film and she’s also directing the project. The movie will be an adaptation of “The Magician’s Nephew,” the sixth novel in the C.S. Lewis book series.

Carey Mulligan Joins 'Narnia' Movie at Netflix, Character Revealed

Carey Mulligan is the latest star to join the cast of Netflix’s upcoming The Chronicles of Narnia movie franchise.

Greta Gerwig wrote the script for the upcoming film and she’s also directing the project. The movie will be an adaptation of The Magician’s Nephew, the six novel in the C.S. Lewis book series.

THR reports that the story “follows two youngsters who, thanks to an uncle’s magic dabbling, unleash the evil White Witch into a turn-of-the 20th century London.” The story is a prequel to The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.

Meryl Streep Eyed for Aslan the Lion Role in 'Narnia' Movie from Greta Gerwig

Meryl Streep is in talks for an exciting new role in Greta Gerwig and Netlfix’s Chronicles of Narnia film!

According to reports, she’s being eyed for the role of Aslan the Great Lion, who has traditionally been a male character in the C.S. Lewis cannon. The character is often seen as an allegory for Jesus in the books, and is “Narnia’s guardian and a guide for the human children.”

Deadline is reporting that an offer has not been made at this time.

It was reported that the Barbie writer and director had been tapped to write and direct at least two movies for Netflix based on the C.S. Lewis novels.

If you didn’t know, it was announced back in 2018 that the streaming service had picked up the rights to all seven books, for films and series.
