The trailer for Hugh Jackman‘s new movie has been released!

The 57-year-old Oscar-nominated actor leads the star-studded cast of the new mystery comedy movie The Sheep Detectives, directed by Kyle Balda and based on the novel Three Bags Full by Leonie Swann.

The cast also includes Nicholas Braun, Nicholas Galitzine, Molly Gordon, Hong Chau, Emma Thompson, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Bryan Cranston, Chris O’Dowd, Regina Hall, Patrick Stewart, Bella Ramsey, Brett Goldstein, and Rhys Darby.

Jeremy Allen White and Ayo Edebiri were noticeably missing from the 2025 Emmy Awards.

The two lead stars of The Bear both decided to skip the awards show on Sunday night (September 14) despite being nominated.

Jeremy, 34, was nominated for Lead Actor in a Comedy Series while Ayo, 29, was actually nominated for two awards – Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series and Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series. Sadly Jeremy and Ayo did not win.

Molly Gordon is explaining why she didn’t initially write Oh, Hi! to be a horror movie.

The 29-year-old star and co-writer of the movie appeared on a recent episode of Late Night with Seth Meyers where she talked about the movie.

Oh, Hi! follows as Iris and Isaac, played by Molly and Logan Lerman, go on a romantic getaway. Things take an uncomfortable twist when the two of them realize that they each had a different vision of where their relationship stood. Instead of going their separate ways, Iris makes the decision to hold Isaac hostage until she can convince him to see things her way.

Although this movie is a nightmare for many couples, Molly says it wasn’t supposed to be a horror movie.

Late Night host Seth Meyers compared the movie to the classic Stephen King film Misery.

Meanwhile, Molly said she doesn’t see the film that way.

“It’s interesting. We were discussing that it’s such a dark time [in the industry], but horror’s kind of the only thing that’s working,” Molly said on the talk show. “But yeah, people would go, ‘I love the movie, but can she kill him at the end?’ But it’s like, when you think of When Harry Met Sally, what if Meg Ryan just killed him at the end? I want some just romantic movies, does there have to be death always?”

If you missed it, Logan also recently talked about Oh, Hi! being compared to Misery.

“Misery is like one of my top 10 favorite movies ever — it’s a perfect movie, I watch it every year. But it isn’t Misery, it’s its own movie; it takes a left turn and has something to say but it’s very different from that. But there’s obvious inspiration,” Logan told THR.

Molly said, “We bow down to Stephen King; this is totally its own thing, but I think we’re so inspired by the idea of like obsession and the humor in horror. Though this isn’t a horror movie and she doesn’t physically hurt anyone, [we were] very inspired by Kathy Bates’ freedom in that movie.”

On Tuesday (February 4), it was announced that the 29-year-old actress – best known for her roles in The Bear, Theater Camp, and Booksmart – will be directing, writing, and starring in A24‘s upcoming comedy Peaked.

“It was challenging for me,” he told Entertainment Weekly. “I was limited in my physical options, and that became a fun challenge for me. I just enjoyed it. It was a great experience all around.”

Fellow cast members in attendance included Abby Elliott and husband Bill Kennedy, Liza Colon-Zayas and husband David Zayas, Molly Gordon, Matty Matheson, Lionel Boyce, and Gillian Jacobs.

The Bear is nominated for 23 awards tonight including Outstanding Comedy Series.

It was couples’ night at the Miu Miu Women’s Tales Dinner on Saturday evening (August 31) amid the 2024 Venice Film Festival!

Hugh Jackman and Emma Thompson are set to star in Three Bags Full: A Sheep Detective Movie, and they’ll share the screen in the live-action comedy with a star-studded cast!

On Friday (June 7), it was announced that they’d be appearing in the movie, which will be directed by Kyle Balda. Craig Mazin handled the script.

The movie is based on a novel of the same name by Leonie Swann.

Here’s the official synopsis: “The local cop Tim Derry (Braun), on the other hand, has never solved a serious crime in his life, so the sheep conclude they will have to solve it themselves, even if it means leaving their meadow for the first time and facing the fact that the human world isn’t as simple as it appears in books.”

Here’s a plot summary: Lucy and Jane have been best friends for most of their lives and think they know everything there is to know about each other. But when Jane announces she’s moving to London, Lucy reveals a long-held secret. As Jane tries to help Lucy, their friendship is thrown into chaos.
