Alexander Skarsgard is back in the loincloth to reprise his role as Tarzan for a sketch on Saturday Night Live!
The 49-year-old actor previously played the role in the 2016 movie The Legend of Tarzan opposite Margot Robbie as Jane.
In the new SNL sketch, Tarzan is breaking up with Jane and expressing confusion for why a woman of her stature would ever be with a guy like him.

There’s a brand new Tarzan movie on its way!
The Hollywood Reporter revealed the news that Sony Pictures has acquired film rights for a brand new version of the tale, which was first put into print in 1912.
Sony is said to have struck a deal with the estate of original book author Edgar Rice Burroughs and plans at the moment are in the very early stages. No plot for the movie has been mentioned at all.
However, it would be a full reinvention of the popular character.
According to Burroughs‘ stories, Tarzan was the son of English nobility who was raised by apes in the African jungle after his parents were marooned there and died. He had no contact with Western culture until he was grown and “King of the Apes.”
The first Tarzan movie adaptation came in 1918, and Olympian Jonny Weissmuller, Ron Ely, and Alexander Skarsgård have all played the character on the big screen.
The Legend of Tarzan director David Yates just opened up about a steamy sex scene in the movie between the stars Margot Robbie and Alexander Skarsgard.
“It was very important that we didn’t want it to feel archaic or dated, where it’s like, tough guy has to save the poor girl,” Alexander told EW about Margot. “You have to feel that she’s strong and independent, and when you cast Margot, you’ll definitely get that.”
“They’re doing this love scene together, and I said [to Robbie], ‘Just slap Alex while you’re making love, just kind of give him a punch,’” David said. “It was sort of an earthy, sensual moment of her enjoying sex with Alex, and the only bruise he picked up during the entire shoot was probably that punch from Margot. Which says a lot about her feistiness.”

Alexander Skarsgard is reportedly the frontrunner to land the title role in Tarzan, director David Yates‘ upcoming film, according to Variety.
The 36-year-old Swedish actor would play “John Clayton III, known around the world as the famous “ape man” Tarzan. Years after he’s re-assimilated into society, he’s asked by Queen Victoria to investigate the goings-on in the Congo. Tarzan teams with an ex-mercenary named George Washington Williams to save the Congo from a fierce warlord who controls a massive diamond mine.”
Tom Hardy, Henry Cavill, and Charlie Hunnam were all reportedly up for the role in the flick, which will feature Samuel L. Jackson as “Williams, a Civil War veteran eager to redeem himself for his part in the massacre of Native Americans.”
