NEW YORK, July 31 /PRNewswire/ — From the historical and scenic Top Of The Rock Observation Deck at Rockefeller Center, MTV today announced the nominees for the “2006 MTV Video Music Awards.” Shakira and The Red Hot Chili Peppers topped the list with seven nominations each for “Hips Don’t Lie” and “Dani California” respectively. Madonna’s “Hung Up” and Panic! At The Disco’s, “I Write Sins Not Tragedies,” follow with five nods while Christina Aguilera received four nods for “Ain’t No Other Man.” It was also announced that Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, T.I., Panic! At The Disco, Ludacris and The Killers are scheduled to perform on the big show.
